Am I the only one on here to be totally confuddled by this drama? The constant time changes and going back and forth are so confusing. My daughter thought the same, and I doubt we`ll be watching next week.

Me too. All this backward, forward stuff was doing my head in. Then I fell asleep. Says it all.

I tried again last night but have given up too!

maryeliza54 Tue 19-Sept-17 14:56:08

I watched the first episode twice and now understand it. I followed the second episode perfectly and really admire the different way this is done - it makes a real change and poses interesting questions based on 'if I'd known that before'

Ilovecheese Tue 19-Sept-17 15:14:55

Maybe I should watch them twice as well, but the main trouble with it for me is that there are no likable characters.
Plus the same old middle aged mens' fantasy about a much younger attractive woman falling in love with them

maryeliza54 Tue 19-Sept-17 15:43:19

I know what you mean about likeable characters but I think I'm too busy concentrating on following the plot to think about that - but it is interesting hearing Gabriel talk about his injuries and the conversation he had with Christine - facial disfigurement is a real issue hardly ever addressed in drama

I also gave up, went and sorted the laundry. DH however, is well into it.

I watched it last week, did not really understand what was going on but thought I would watch last night's episode. Totally forgot I had seen the fist part especially as I have a heavy dose of the cleaning bug and after 9pm I was cleaning my fridge and heaven knows what else. I still have it but hopefully a night's sleep and I will be back to normal.

I was wondering if I might make more sense of this if I started at episode 3 and worked backwards???.

LullyDully Wed 20-Sept-17 16:28:12

We did the same. An episode and a half then gave up. Twaddle the right word a clever idea going backwards but confusingly executed. Perhaps I am not bright enough.

I've recorded the series so far but having read your useful comments will save my time and watch something different. Enjoying Liar which I think was written by the brother of the author of Rellik.

NanKate Sat 23-Sept-17 19:33:52

I read a book by Sarah Waters which was written backwards, it was excellent, however I can't remember the name of it.

Madgran77 Sat 23-Sept-17 20:35:31

Totally lost!! Given up!

maryeliza54 Sat 23-Sept-17 20:36:53

I think they both wrote both of them

maryeliza54 Sat 23-Sept-17 20:40:44

Was it The Night Watch Nankate? Sounds good - I'll put it on my wish list

BlueBelle Sat 23-Sept-17 21:27:45

I ve really got into it now and I m enjoying it I do have to remind myself it's gone backwards but once I ve done that Im ok and not finding it too difficult to follow which is strange cos I often get muddled up even when they all go forward, perhaps because I know it's confusing I m concentrating more
Nankate give it a go

maryeliza54 Mon 25-Sept-17 17:22:26

Looking forward to tonight's episode

BlueBelle Tue 26-Sept-17 19:12:01

Just caught up with it I m liking this one the best out of the dramas on at the moment You do have to stick with it and you do have to concentrate but it's got a lot of meat on the bones Tonight's episode was really good I wasn't expecting that at all Did you enjoy it Maryeliza
I do like Gabriel s voice too

maryeliza54 Tue 26-Sept-17 19:44:50

Absolutely great BB very chilling and well worth the effort of watching and concentrating - a relief after Liar

BlueBelle Tue 26-Sept-17 19:47:21

Yes there's much more to it
I think we are the only ones enjoying it but hey ho takes all sorts

maryeliza54 Tue 26-Sept-17 19:56:06

You're the only person I can talk to about it ??

maryeliza54 Wed 04-Oct-17 23:04:25

Bluebelle did you enjoy this weeks episode?

BlueBelle Thu 05-Oct-17 07:38:15

Mary I m watching after work this afternoon as missed the programme on tv so watch this space I ll be back x

Christinefrance Thu 05-Oct-17 08:44:25

I struggled with this at first but now I am enjoying it. It does need a level of concentration and as someone else said the issue of facial disfigurement was addressed a little. I would like something a bit light hearted now to counteract these dramas. The Jack Dee sitcom does not cut the mustard.

Juggernaut Thu 05-Oct-17 12:08:34

I'm loving 'Rellik'!
I don't mind having to concentrate, it makes a change from 'airy fairy' stuff that I watch in a semi comatose state!

chelseababy Thu 05-Oct-17 14:45:16

I'm enjoying it too. More is being revealed about the wife and daughter......What accent has the wife got?
