Anyone started this? And what do you think ? A tad gory for just one episode?

NfkDumpling Sun 02-Jul-17 22:35:14

It's gone beyond Midsommer with gore - I'm watching from behind the sofa now!

Ana Sun 02-Jul-17 22:37:52

Were we watching the same programme NfkDumpling?

I didn't see any gore at all, apart from a tiny bit when that bloke was stabbed at the end...confused

BlueBelle Sun 02-Jul-17 22:42:01

Me neither just that last fight but nothing too bad tonight Whats the lie the police woman's husband wants to tell
Oh what a tangled web

Nandalot Sun 02-Jul-17 22:57:45

Yes, I think the 'bloody gruesome' warning at the beginning was a bit OTT.

NfkDumpling Wed 05-Jul-17 19:41:20

I suppose it's psychological gore! I have a vivid imagination and that body in the lake is really freaking me. My fear of drowning coming to the fore.

I am enjoying this. As someone said it's like a Scottish Broadchurch. I didn't think it was gory and |I don't actually have any problem with hearing the Scottish accents though I always do with 'Southern' dramas! What does that say about where I originate?! wink

Nailing my colours to the mast here.......
DH and I think the murderer is Petrie, he had the opportunity to hide the hammer etc in the loft at Dessie's house.
Was it the rifle that Dessie had in the bag when the group went to visit the hydroelectric dam? Or was he telling the truth, and it was his curling kit?
My money says Dessie was carrying his curling gear, Petrie had the rifle hidden in readiness, and he killed 'red haired boy' (can't remember his name), attempted to kill Kieran, and then shot Dessie, attempting to make it look like suicide!
Of course, all the above could be utterly, utterly wrong.....I shall find out tomorrow evening!

NfkDumpling Sat 15-Jul-17 22:17:51

Why would Dessie take his curling gear on the hydro visit? It annoyed me that all this kids were seemingly allowed to wander around a power station unsupervised.

NfkDumpling Sat 15-Jul-17 22:18:27

Agree Petrie seems likely.

Juggernaut Sat 15-Jul-17 23:38:12

Dessie said he had curling practice straight after the hydro visit!

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Jul-17 07:30:51

Aha! I wasn't paying full attention!

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Jul-17 07:37:25

I wonder about the lad with Locked in Syndrome. How locked in is he really? It seems to be his medication keeping him there - and why is he in the plot? Perhaps Petrie is too obvious.

Iam64 Sun 16-Jul-17 08:25:32

I wondered if the lads mother was giving him extra medication to prevent him getting out of his bed? There is something odd there

Christinefrance Sun 16-Jul-17 08:26:44

Yes I thought I saw the mother of the boy with locked in syndrome giving him IV insulin, keeping him in a coma ?

NfkDumpling Sun 16-Jul-17 08:27:56

Yes, he's definitely being over medicated. Suspicious!

Juggernaut Sun 16-Jul-17 14:24:29

The boy with 'locked in' syndrome is definitely being over medicated, but I don't have him down as a/the murderer, he looks too well drugged to be able to function enough to commit murder,
Or, perhaps Nessie is slithering out of the loch and doing the dirty deeds?

Ana Sun 16-Jul-17 14:36:01

The locked-in syndrome boy's brother's now discovered his dirty bare feet so knows he's been up and about - the mother will have some explaining to do tonight!

rosesarered Sun 16-Jul-17 19:11:10

So, anyone care to have a guess who the killer is?

BlueBelle Sun 16-Jul-17 19:36:38

I think that the ' locked in' boy must be something sinister or else what would be the point in him .... Petrie is the most obvious but .....

rosesarered Sun 16-Jul-17 19:41:58

Well, not sure about that, as the pregnant girl and doctor didn't have a point in the story, just a red herring.

rosesarered Sun 16-Jul-17 19:43:47

DH thinks there is an Army link though ( the young man who is kept drugged by his Mother, presumably to keep him safe) may have a point in the story or could be just another side show.

Juggernaut Sun 16-Jul-17 20:30:47

Roses
I had a guess at who the murderer is in my message of 21:54:15 last night,
I'm probably wrong, but hey, it wouldn't be for the first time!

trisher Sun 16-Jul-17 21:33:20

I don't know who it is, but what a lot of weirdos living close together. It will be interesting to see what will happen to Petrie. You get castigated for one small accident on a school trip, god knows what would happen if kids were shooting each other!! Afraid I can't take it seriously.

rosesarered Sun 16-Jul-17 21:49:51

Ah, yes juggernaut but is Petrie too obvious?
Could it be John Sessions ? That would be a turn up for the book.grin

rosesarered Sun 16-Jul-17 21:51:19

Got visitors arriving on Monday, so won't see The Loch ( or GN) until Wed night, so will have to wait, grrrr.
