Such a genuinely nice man on TV, he seemed to be aging week by week, I hope he recovers fully

He does look unwell doesn't he and 70 isn't old at all. I hope he feels better soon. I love listening to his careful explanation and his excitement when he finds something of interest - his knowledge is enormous.

Thank goodness he has kept that gravelly voice. Went to one of his personal roadshows once, very entertaining.

Interesting that this post is here as i was wondering the same thing myself. he looks seriously unwell poor man. After reading the info on the link i can understand why. Thankfully he seems on the road to recovery but he does look like he needs some TLC. Prehaps after a near death experience he is so thankful to be alive, be able to walk and work again he isnt bothered about superficial things any longer. I should imagine such an experience is a life changing thing.

I didn't realise he's 70.

Thanks for the link-appalling treatment, .or lack of it. Dare anyone pat me on the head......! Any idea about his left hand luckygirl?

Here's the story of his infection following a broken leg and his comment that he is more comfortable in bare feet.

His saga of returning to the hospital convinced something was wrong and being patted on the head and sent away reminded me of my tale of woe - why oh why do some medics not take patients' concerns seriously?

He used to be very dapper but now seems to be quite unkempt and wears sandals most of the time. I know he had major problems with a fractured leg (perhaps sandals are to do with that?) but he doesn't seem to be using his left hand either.
