Oh my God!!! it was riverting I had forgotten how much, I found myself shouting for Kate to 'be careful' when she was chasing Cotton in the final scenes, cant wait for the new series now. Anyone else watched the re runs??

This is one of my favourite gransnet discussions. The drama itself is a joy, no matter how dark but the confessions about our secret lusts are so entertaining.

jalima I don't think anyone knows how it ends-even the writergrin.

There's a series 5 in the offing and, depending on how successful the series is deemed to have been, maybe even a series 6!

How are we going to stand it? I can't sleep at night as it is, for churning theories around my brain...

By the way, Episode 1 is finishing tonight on Iplayer, so last chance to view!

As you were!

Jalima1108 Tue 25-Apr-17 15:50:42

So - how does it end?????

gettingonabit Tue 25-Apr-17 15:42:53

Can't claim any famous or fit male actors amongst my experience but I HAVE met Vicky McClure aka Kate (Fleming/ Flynn/Foster/Whatever). <preens>.

She's very down to earth and very very slim. envy Not "luvvie" at all.

I must say quickly now that I don't have romantic feelings for Ted Hastings - it's just that he's so dependably uncorruptible. Just like the wonderful Harry from Spooks.

Don't let me get going down the Rufus Sewell route - my knees go very uncontrolled and my breathing gets difficult. But that's nothing at all to do with the brilliance that is Line of Duty (although I did tend to get a bit like that in the first series which starred Lenny James ... sigh)

Iam64 I once found myself standing next to Nigel Havers outside Manchester Art Gallery. Was too overcome to speak!

Not me kitty but then if we all fancied the same kind of looks in a man, not many of us would be married, because there wouldn't be enough of the same types to go around! grin

Not just her Mum, Maw, most right thinking mums!!

MawBroon Tue 25-Apr-17 09:33:12

I may have said before that DD was sitting next to Alan Rickman a few years back years ago at some theatre do. She said she didn't have the heart to tell him how her MUM felt about him ??

Yes, that was another cracker of a one liner wasn't it gettingonabit. The dialogue has been one of the many joys of this series.
Thanks for telling us you have watched more than once. It reassures me becauseI miss bits. A close friend told me at the weekend, she records it (too dark to watch just before bed) then watches it at least twice!

gettingonabit Tue 25-Apr-17 08:10:59

There is going to be another series!

I couldn't help loving the "Ironside" comment Jimmy made to Steve!

kittylester Tue 25-Apr-17 07:34:20

Bloody phone Rufus

kittylester Tue 25-Apr-17 07:33:13

Hands off Rubus Sewell!! I give up my claim to anyone else so long as I can keep him. blush

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 23:00:29

Oh no, not Paul Higgins, in fact none of the above, now, who is Dryden?

Ah, Mark Bonnar! Possible but he will have to join the queue behind Patrick Baladi and that chap he was with in Shetland - Dougie Henshall. Oh, and Lord Melbourne.

Welshwife Mon 24-Apr-17 22:22:33

This morning Adrian Dunbar was interviewed on Breakfast and it sounds as if there may be another series as he was talking about it not all being sorted with regards to the really big players who are corrupt - a line which has gone through all the series so far. Here's hoping!

durhamjen Mon 24-Apr-17 22:20:05

Christinefrance, it will be difficult to have another series if everyone is right about the guilty ones. They will all be in prison for life.

Iam64 Mon 24-Apr-17 21:56:42

I once found myself standing next to Alan Rickman in a queue going into an event at the Opera House in Manchester. Not sure I've ever recovered.

Christinefrance Mon 24-Apr-17 21:53:13

Is this the last ever series ? Thought I read that somewhere. We may have to send the GN persuaders out to talk to the writers smile

J52 Mon 24-Apr-17 20:56:29

In the first episode, Roz sat on her bed and told husband, in a relieved way that 'it' was over. Implying that by charging the young lad for all the murders they were off the hook. Then they hugged.

I suspect the back story will unravel with many implications. Can't wait.

gettingonabit Mon 24-Apr-17 20:53:34

I don't get Hastings, either. Or David Tennant. Bill Nighy? Wtaf!!wink.

Now the bloke who played Dryden....phwoarrhblush. Or even Paul Higgins, who plays Hilton blush. Must be a Scottish thing.

Ana Mon 24-Apr-17 20:28:55

Alan Rickman is my all-time most fanciable actor...such a shame he's no longer with us.
