I watched to re run of the last two episodes of Line of Duty on playback just to refresh myself as the new series starts this Sunday. Oh my God!!! it was riverting I had forgotten how much, I found myself shouting for Kate to 'be careful' when she was chasing Cotton in the final scenes, cant wait for the new series now. Anyone else watched the re runs??

OMG!! that was a shock can Steve possibly survive? I don't think so but fingers crossed.

gettingonabit Mon 03-Apr-17 20:28:16

I don't think it's in the same class as the previous series either but there'll be more to come, and hopefully some unexpected curveballs!

Eloethan Mon 03-Apr-17 19:16:15

| also think it's very far-fetched and, so far, not in the same class as the other three series.

I'm going to hang on though - it might get better.

Maybe you're right, trisher.

Did she take the laptop away because it contained details of her entering the flat?

trisher Mon 03-Apr-17 15:15:01

I thought she just clicked on his picture and then typed in trapdoor to find the file (not give her access)

trisher Mon 03-Apr-17 14:54:57

But trapdoor was so b obvious wasn't it? security freaks don't use obvious passwords.
Husband "Where were you last night dear?"
Wife "Well I just killed a man, chopped off his fingers and cleaned everything up, popped his laptop and the fingers in the car boot and came home."
Husband "You said you were working"

I think the injury was caused by the saw, which nicked Ifield's neck, hitting an artery. That's why the injury was small, but it would have caused him to bleed out. There would have been heckova lot of blood, including Thandie's.

I think there must have been more than one person in the flat. How did Thandie get the wrist marks otherwise? Like she'd been tied up?

My money's on the husband being involved. I think it was his car, stalking Thandie, pulling up at the flat. I think he waited for Thandie to come out, and when she didn't, got himself in. Not sure how. He did something in there, either to protect Thandie, or Thandie may have covered for him.

Ifield died as a result. Thandie cleaned up, but was left with poor memory/hearing as a result of the injury. That's why she heard "30" instead of "13". She couldn't have gone to hospital with the injury, so I reckon hubby helped her clean up. It must have been a thorough job if the only blood left was the splatter.

Another thing: how come Arnott called Hastings to the scene? He's not murder squad.

Lazigirl Mon 03-Apr-17 14:44:33

I'm having to suspend belief too in order to enjoy the action. Thandie made a damn quick recovery from bang on head to murdering forensic bloke and doing a clean up. Who helped her? It's the sort of series where you have to go back to previous instalment and watch again to unravel confusion.

Lona Mon 03-Apr-17 11:05:23

I'm afraid I was a bit bored with Thandie. The plot is really far-fetched and I'm so disappointed. hmm

PRINTMISS Mon 03-Apr-17 11:00:53

Ditto (Christinefrance). Don't look for the faults, just enjoy the acting and the twists and turns.

Christinefrance Mon 03-Apr-17 10:19:05

I'm just suspending disbelief and enjoying it. The twists and turns are keeping me on my toes .

She typed his name into his laptop, tried one password, no joy, then typed in trapdoor and hey presto, she was in! They also hold inventories of crime scene evidence, chap on desk wouldn't need to go 'to have a look' it would have all been logged on computer. Adult version of Janet and John methinks! But I will still keep watching. The amount of blood that come from her head wound that pooled on floor must have been quite bad, what happened to it? The only after affects are the 3 lines of nail scratches on her wrist, hence missing digits.

gettingonabit Mon 03-Apr-17 09:16:00

Phew!

I don't understand how the dna got onto the corpse either. Unless the pathologist (Rapul)? is bent as well.

She said she'd done a good job of the first postmortem, so surely she'd be suspicious if new dna-especially Tim's-then magically turned up.

Everyone seems to have something to hide!

Yes, Buckells and Kate could have history. I think it was Buckells who took over from Gates in S1. Kate was undercover then.

One thing amongst other things I couldn't understand was how Roz managed to get into Tim's computer so easily. Could she have harvested a fingerprint from his amputated fingers? Tim was such a security freak; maybe his computer access was by fingerprint?

trisher Mon 03-Apr-17 08:51:42

It's so watchable but so full of holes. He was supposed to be security obsessed but his phone and laptop weren't password protected? What happened to her head injury? How did she get blood out of her hair? She drives around with fingers etc in her car boot-wouldn't they smell?

Welshwife Mon 03-Apr-17 08:45:45

With what she asked the young officer to do with regard to DNA - she had a sample of Tim's blood in her bag and she must have got some onto the corpse somehow as she asks the young woman to have the body checked for any of Tim's DNA - and the young woman announced at the meeting that there was some but I did not notice her getting to the corpse to do the deed.

OH said that the lad would kill himself - I do hope not.

I wonder what she -Tandie- is up to really or who she is working for.

LadyGracie Mon 03-Apr-17 08:36:21

How did she get blood on the putrified corpse of the prostitute from Ifield? Too far fetched! I enjoyed previous series immensely, this one way over the top.

Iam64 Mon 03-Apr-17 08:33:19

Exactly, she swopped the dna samples, initially she overheard 30, but then realised it was 13 so put the dna in the right bag.
I wonder if all the blood was from the injury on her wrist, where we were led to believe it was from her head. She could have cut her ear as she fell though, ears bleed profusely.
That poor lad - will he kill himself?

durhamjen Sun 02-Apr-17 23:11:35

Wasn't she just trying to get her out of the way again, so she could swap DNA samples again?

tanith Sun 02-Apr-17 23:09:25

It had something to do with what she asked that Asian officer to do for her when she said she was keeping it quiet but it had to do with Tim. I didn't catch what it was she asked her to do.

durhamjen Sun 02-Apr-17 23:08:20

Do you think Farmer is going to remember something else vital?

durhamjen Sun 02-Apr-17 23:07:26

The boot looked as though it had been well scrubbed, but we all know they'll be able to get DNA from it.

Maggiemaybe Sun 02-Apr-17 22:59:14

The history between Kate and Buckles - does it hark back to series 1 that I haven't seen yet (dvd ordered and on its way grin)? Or is it something I've forgotten from series 2 or 3?

Poor Farmer. I can't bear to watch his scenes - they need to get him out of there pronto!

cornergran Sun 02-Apr-17 22:54:57

Is the car boot one of those two level ones? You lift up the base and there is another level? I also feel sorry for Farmer. He needs protection rather than ridicule. The Assistant Chief Constable is 'up to something' according to Mr C. The DNA stuff was confusing, haven't a clue where this is going next but we are both enjoying it hugely.

durhamjen Sun 02-Apr-17 22:46:13

Homeland is quite tame by comparison.

Welshwife Sun 02-Apr-17 22:44:56

But somehow she got Tim's DNA on this latest body - I didn't see how she did that. I thought the Laptop and phone had just gone from the boot but wondered if I had nodded off a mo!
