I watched to re run of the last two episodes of Line of Duty on playback just to refresh myself as the new series starts this Sunday. Oh my God!!! it was riverting I had forgotten how much, I found myself shouting for Kate to 'be careful' when she was chasing Cotton in the final scenes, cant wait for the new series now. Anyone else watched the re runs??

BlueBelle Mon 24-Apr-17 07:31:27

Sorry counter blame not counter blanev

Christinefrance Mon 24-Apr-17 07:38:42

No BlueBelle I often have to recap to sort out all the ramifications. Think some writers must have torturous minds.
Really enjoying it though. Arnott is shown not to be coping so well, not sure how he arrived at work immaculately groomed when he clearly struggled to move from wheelchair to chair and had apparently no help at home - or have I missed sonething else ?

Pittcity Mon 24-Apr-17 08:00:07

AD is on BBC Breakfast soon!

PRINTMISS Mon 24-Apr-17 08:13:53

Blow all the 'mistakes' it is really good, isn't it. Can't wait for next week - if it was a book my nose would be well and truly stuck in it. Incidentally, the other half thinks Thandie is the goody.

travelsafar Mon 24-Apr-17 08:49:59

This is an awesome series and i cant wait for next week's final to find out who dunnit!!!!!

TerriBull Mon 24-Apr-17 08:55:45

Very exciting last night, did think "the arm" might have gangrene it was obviously getting worse and quite a shock for Roz wake up in hospital to find lower arm and hand missing. Thandie does an inscrutable face so well, clearly having no qualms in falsifying the evidence again, smearing her husband's jumper. The conclusion is next week, so no doubt much speculation on how it will be tied up with more shocks to come.

durhamjen Mon 24-Apr-17 09:14:19

My husband fell off a ladder and broke his back after landing on concrete. After a month in hospital he casme home on crutches, not even a wheelchair. So I found that quite believable. He had to go to Pinderfields and we've seen what people in wheelchairs with fractured spines can do.
I found Steve's part quite believable. I was surprised they let him go home with nobody there to help him, but the building had a lift.

BlueBelle Mon 24-Apr-17 09:17:30

Let's be in the real world for a minute you don't go home the day after your ve had your arm amputated from gangrene/sepsis do you? and how did the poor old chap going from a difficult psysio treatment where he could barely walk to being back at work in a day if it wasn't such a darned good series it would be laughable

Roz Huntley is a piece of work isn't she but excellent acting by the wee girl

Welshwife Mon 24-Apr-17 09:30:37

We don't actually know what the timescale is when the scenes change - or not always. If Roz had sepsis she would be on an antibiotic drip for at least a few days - DH had it last summer and was in ITU for six days and hospital for another week. He lost over two stones!!

Not sure about the lawyer friend of Roz's husband - but he could be a good thing for her husband. I think he will incriminate Roz when questioned and AC12 will get in on his questioning. Something has to happen with that Maneet as well - when she gave Hilton the last file she said that was the last one --- will she confess???

Christinefrance Mon 24-Apr-17 09:42:29

Yes and why is Maneet giving out the information ? Like Printmiss I can't wait for the last episode .

durhamjen Mon 24-Apr-17 09:42:59

Bluebelle, you go home from hospital and go back for physio.
They had to send an ambulance for my husband because he couldn't go in a car, though, you've just reminded me. He had to lie down.
It depends on which vertebrae have been fractured as to how much movement you have.

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 10:31:35

Whose baby is Maneet expecting?
Why was Hastings looking shifty this week?
Who is Huntley protecting? I don't think she was protecting her husband in the first place either, now she can't frame wotzisname she is busy framing her husband.
My money's still on Hilton for balaclava man and helping with the murder/cleanup of Ifield (as well as Kim and Aggie) but I am probably wrong as that would not be so much of a twist.

I forgot to look out for dodgy handshakes and I'm not sure what I should be looking for anyway.

Lona Mon 24-Apr-17 10:42:06

It looks like Hilton is part of the web of corrupt high ranking officers. I think Maneet will confess when she hears that Hastings is being discredited by Hilton.
The rest is just too complicated for me. I felt a bit sick at the end of this week's episode but I'm sure the good guys will win!

cornergran Mon 24-Apr-17 10:56:52

We thought Maneet was being pressurised, probably by Hilton, who could be the father of her baby. Wondered if she will phone and tell someone, maybe Steve, the truth? The timescale could be more protracted than the series makes it seem, but certainly Roz was a bit of a walking miracle. If a friend's discharge from hospital after a broken neck is usual there were no checks about home, took her word for it. Don't think it was Roz's husband, not even Hilton, too obvious now. No idea in fact! Hastings seems to know he has done something wrong at some point, may be relevant or may not. Really enjoyed this series, have double checked next week is set to record.

J52 Mon 24-Apr-17 11:00:12

Yes, Hilton is the key to it all. I'm trying to remember incidents from the previous series.
At the beginning of this one he had a 'friendly, controlling' conversation with Roz. I didn't pay too much attention to it. I might go back and view again.

Pittcity Mon 24-Apr-17 14:13:13

....and they all have names beginning with H.

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 14:17:01

I am beginning to see why their surnames begin with H (part of the intrigue and plot!)

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 14:25:30

Here's a good synopsis:

Iam64 Mon 24-Apr-17 14:55:43

What an exciting episode.
I don't think Nick Huntley is involved. I think his lawyer friend is balaclava man and may be mixed up with organised crime. I suspect Roz is either part of the police corruption and/or had an affair with the balaclava lawyer.

The ACC has something on Maneet. We need Kate or Steve to spot the yellow postit with Jamie's name and password on it and to detect (!) that may be how someone accessed his computer, they go and see him, he tells them Maneet asked and told him all passwords were being altered. The see Maneet, she fesses up.
Is the ACC corrupt or 'just' out to get Ted? Corrupt I think. Fantastic tv

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 15:16:37

oh dear, I like Patrick Baladi

Jalima1108 Mon 24-Apr-17 15:17:23

but not in this grin

Welshwife Mon 24-Apr-17 15:18:32

I wondered if Hilton was the father of Maneet's baby. Will look at that link Jalima thank you.

kittylester Mon 24-Apr-17 16:14:32

I've looked at that link jalima and I'm more confused than ever. I think it might be Jodie! confused

I love Patrick Baladi too - he's good at doing 'unlikable'.

nanaK54 Mon 24-Apr-17 16:37:07

Erm Roz wasn't 'discharged' she left the hospital against medical advice (or at least I think she did grin)

gulligranny Mon 24-Apr-17 16:40:19

I can't cope with the idea that Ted Hastings might be corrupt; it'd be like the Rockies tumbling or Gibraltar crumbling!

It's riveting stuff, though, and I love the way the three series are sort of interwoven. Acting of the highest quality by all concerned, I both can't wait to know what happens and can't bear for it to end.
