I do so enjoy watching Leveson and I am hoping his new series Walking The Americas will be as good as his other 2 series Walking The Nile and Walking The Himalays.

Will anybody be watching? It is on Channel 4 Sunday.

I don't mean to be tacky but he is so handsome and appears to be generous of spirit I think he is adorable.

Oh thank you for the reminder POGS I loved both Walking the Nile and The Himalayas too. I will most definitely be watching.

We're looking forward to it as well POGS. DHL got so carried away with his programme walking down the Nile that he keeps musing about doing it himself. (In his dreams).grin

Obviously his programme has not caught the attention of many but am I alone in finding this series a bit boring so far.

I can't wait for him to get out of Guatamala, ALIVE.

I'm watching it, have recorded last night's but watched the first one, love anything about Latin America, Central America is quite dangerous, just read about a shooting 8 peope dead in Playa Del Carmen, Yucatán, lovely quiet and sedate resort, or so I thought when I went there a few years ago. Such a big problem with drug cartels in that part of the world it seems. Spectacular Mayan ruins and wildlife though. Looking forward to the bit where they get to the Darien Gap between central and South America. I'm sorry I missed the other programmes, The Nile particularly.

Terribull

I would recommend you try viewing the Nile and Himalayas on catch up if you can.

I think my problem is there is so much time spent on the 'troubles' rather than the beauty of the places he has passed through. Do you think that is because they have to be so cautious and consider their wefare they have been restricted to a degree due to the bandit culture?

This is the first one of his travel docs I have watched. He is very likeable. I don't suppose you can get away from 'bandit culture' if you travel through the countries they are featuring, but I think there is an element of "a few bad guys and trouble spots will render it a bit less bland". His compadre' looks terrified most of the time! I will try and get a look at the others of the series.

Yes I do POGS most of those central American countries are notorious for their gang culture and drug cartels apart from Costa Rica which I've heard is quite safe.
