If you are watching Missing what do you think of it . it's complicated isn't it? stories within stories and changing countries and changing years I m really having to keep on my toes to follow it I am enjoying it though One criticism is I wish the wife and girlfriend looked less alike I have to keep translate which is which it is getting better now I m more familiar with the story line but the first couple of episodes foxed me

I think we've only ever seen Sophie except in the first episode when it wa Alice who bunked off school and last week's episode when Alice was peering out of the cupboard.

Sophie pretending to be Alice had given birth so Lucy could be hers but what about the other babies whose scans we saw?
What did Stone do?

Agreed, grey!

I find all this stuff intriguing, but not THAT intriguing. I think there's a limit. I can't seem to get myself gripped at all! I'm missing all the subtle clues (not like me at all) and the only reason I'm watching still is to get a weekly eyeful of gorgeous Derek Riddell. blush

At the beginning, when "Alice" turned up in the town and they took her to hospital, wasn't it revealed that she had given birth at some point.? If "Alice" is now Sophie, could the little girl be that child? Will Dangermouse solve the mystery of the three legged unicorn? Is there honey still for tea, in England, now? Do we give a fig?? Back in the cupboard, Grey!

The little girl did say something when she made her dramatic appearance on the stairs before the nice policeman was killed, about she and mummy being in the cellar at drill man's house, didn't she? So she must be the daughter of one of the two/three abducted girls. Are the two/three girls similar because.....da, da, DA.....they have the same dad? Dodgy Sam? I'm still wondering about that drawer full of scan pictures at dementia man's house - far too many to be just from his daughter's pregnancy. And wishing I hadn't deleted the episodes as we watched them, so that I could scroll back and check on a few of these things. And wishing I could remember what all these people are called.

roses how do we know that the little girl is Sophie's daughter? She could be the daughter of the other girl in the cellar (Alice)?. Or a random child.

f77 I think the point is that the girls ARE similar; similar enough to cause confusion but not similar enough for Gemma not to know that the reappeared girl was not her daughter.

I think the final twist will somehow involve Sam. I think he's dodgy not sure why, though.

Well, I for one am getting more and more confused every week . Not really enjoying it that much and find the wife of Baptiste a bit annoying but feel I have got this far so need to see the end. Does anyone else find the two captured girls too similar to work out which one is which ?

rosesarered Sun 27-Nov-16 14:24:35

I think that Sophie may well end up killing Adam ( her captor) now that she has relative freedom and her little daughter back.

rosesarered Sun 27-Nov-16 14:23:29

It's a good drama...but, the bit this week with a younger Captain Stone and Henry Reed rescuing Adam in Iraq was unrealistic. The house was on fire and no neighbours appeared on the scene at all.

Jalima Sun 27-Nov-16 13:51:22

I wonder if the end will be more drama than tension iyswim

Not sure I kwim!

trisher Sun 27-Nov-16 13:18:12

Oh I hope the end is good. I'm getting a bit worried that it is going to be an open ending and we will never find out everything. Thought the Iraq flashback with the 4 different actors was a bit unnecessary and silly. Bit of a time filler I think. I agree about Baptiste's wife who apparently came all the way from France just to give him a cap and didn't insist she was going with him if he wasn't going home.

Maggiemaybe Fri 25-Nov-16 20:46:03

Very sensible, Jalima. I always give in to temptation!

Jalima Fri 25-Nov-16 20:42:45

Not looking, not looking, fingers over eyes!

Maggiemaybe Fri 25-Nov-16 20:42:06

Radio Times, Greyduster? I've just had a sneaky peek as well. Roll on Wednesday!

Greyduster Fri 25-Nov-16 19:02:05

I've read the synopsis in the mag; going to be a good 'un!

Jalima Fri 25-Nov-16 18:43:39

Yes!

Jalima Fri 25-Nov-16 18:43:14

why can't I see these icons?

Is it wine Greyduster

I'd need a bottle of whisky before I would go in there.

Welshwife Fri 25-Nov-16 18:38:17

Have you seen the trailer for next week's episode?

Greyduster Fri 25-Nov-16 18:22:59

More like ?????grin!

Jalima Fri 25-Nov-16 17:29:21

With a monkey with crashing cymbals?

Or just a nice cupcake and brew?

Greyduster Fri 25-Nov-16 17:12:44

Oh God, I'm so confused I wish someone would lock me in a cupboard!!

Jalima Fri 25-Nov-16 10:47:20

I must have blinked a couple of times.

I did wonder if he had a 'favourite', one at a time and kept the other two locked up.

But why didn't they try to escape when they were out at the fair together?
Unless he had Lucy
Or they were suffering from Stockholm syndrome by then, but Sophie doesn't look totally brainwashed; she is nervous.
Unless she is trying to be 'good' to avoid being swapped for Alice in the cupboard.

??????

gretel Fri 25-Nov-16 09:16:49

Gettrick and Sophie talked together about Sophie impersonating Alice but I don't understand why Gettrick needs everyone to think Alice is dead. If he's about to get his army pension he could just have moved away from the area. Lots of German houses have cellars Jalima. The cellar was under the kitchen.

merlotgran Thu 24-Nov-16 22:37:44

I hope that waiter who fancies Sophie doesn't get any big ideas about following her home. shock

Jalima Thu 24-Nov-16 22:32:05

Someone thinks that Derek Riddell looks like Mark Rylance, that was all!

Was the cellar in the kitchen? I thought it was in the garage - red herring alert! Sorry

Alima Thu 24-Nov-16 21:07:58

That is puzzling me too gettingonabit. (Just tried to shorten that, didn't look good!). As far as I am concerned Mark Rylance is the voice of Fop in Bing. This is getting silly now.
