So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

Or flaky Kate!!

"What options do we have?" asked Ian. Isn't it obvious?
Helen of course.

merlotgran Fri 15-Sept-17 19:31:06

Are we taking bets then? Helen to be a surrogate mother for Ian's baby?

The Archers have got a bit dullsville again lately. Improbable storylines and boring with it.

I knew she didn't sound quite like Bulgarians I have known, but it wasn't that many, so I thought it might just be a bit different! And they went to a lot of trouble to make sure that Nick sounded East Midlands!

Blimey, have we fallen out of love with the Archers
I'm afraid i have.
My problem is the 'Lexi' character. She plays the part of a lady from Bulgaria. I lived in BG for 5 years and she no more speaks with a BG accent than I do! She is speaking with a Russian accent. I had Russian neighbors and socialised a lot with them. The Russian accent is very hard, where as the BG one is soft.
I'm very disappointed in the Archers team. They go to so much trouble to be authentic yet in this they have failed miserably.

Adam is 50, not sure of Ian 's age, it's not on the website.
I think that the meeting and subsequent discussions with social workers will expose their different attitudes, and may well exacerbate the cracks in the marriage.

It's very likely to be an older, somewhat damaged child, I can see Ian embracing the issues with his usual warmth, and Adam, himself rather damaged, not being able to cope.

Well, someone needs to adopt or foster. It's on the government's 'Must Push' list along with blood doning - and, I hear this morning, the Dutch Reach method (of opening a car door!)

AyjayF Mon 11-Sept-17 06:59:46

Aren't Ian + Adam a bit old to adopt?

travelsafar Mon 11-Sept-17 06:36:48

Blimey have we all fallen out of love with the Archers???

AyjayF Wed 23-Aug-17 10:19:29

Said it before, say it again. Where is the lovely Ian?. Best voice in The Archers

shysal Wed 23-Aug-17 09:41:25

Bought the new RT yesterday, which reveals more about a dilemma for Adam regarding Tiger and Pusscat.

shysal Tue 22-Aug-17 09:12:27

Yes phoenix, it says 'final judgement day' hmm

phoenix Mon 21-Aug-17 22:44:23

Has anyone else read the Ambridge Diary thing in the Radio Times for this week? Sounds a bit ominous esp. re Tiger & Pusscat..........................shock

merlotgran Mon 21-Aug-17 18:59:45

I'm going to add 'Darhaas' to my dictionary of daft Ambridge pronunciations along with Rooarri, Hellin and Jilleen. grin

merlotgran Mon 21-Aug-17 18:56:23

Thanks, mcem. So Lilian will get the dosh and will still have a half share in the dahas.

Nice one!

mcem Mon 21-Aug-17 17:53:14

I didn't think he'd sold it, just put it in trust. Lilian will get the cash when the trust sells to Justin.
He'll pay over the odds as he's desperate to live with L in the dahas.

merlotgran Mon 21-Aug-17 15:33:29

I'm really confused about this Dower House stuff.

Matt sold it to ???? to put it in trust with Lilian as beneficiary.

Justin is going to buy it (whatever the price)

Who gets the money?

mcem Mon 21-Aug-17 15:24:34

On the subject of accents - I was half listening and had to relisten to part of Lilian's chat with Justin about the dahas. Wondering what she was on about I worked out that she was referring to the dower house. Matt subsequently called it the daar haas.
Do we all speak the same language?
Dow er how ss!

shysal Sun 20-Aug-17 14:06:23

Yes, Ayjay, definitely a new Chris. This one has a deeper voice and a more pronounced accent.

EthelJ Sat 19-Aug-17 22:44:40

Did anyone hear 'Justin Elliot ' on radio 4 this morning? He said he was currently engaged to Lilian. Do you think they will actually marry? It sounded as though they might not.

maryeliza54 Fri 18-Aug-17 20:17:49

Just loving Emma - excellent story line

merlotgran Fri 18-Aug-17 19:23:28

I was too busy listening to Emma to notice. It's a really good storyline.

The entitled of Ambridge just don't know how lucky they are.

AyjayF Fri 18-Aug-17 19:17:42

Was it a new Chris Carter tonight?

phoenix Thu 17-Aug-17 08:03:29

Damn sight more realistic than flapjack flinging Jill.
