So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

Iam64 - could that be why I've not seen the SW I occasionally buttonhole lately. We both use a tiny café, too small for the poor guy to dodge me!
Must tell him how I was yelling at Kate this evening!

Elrel Thu 05-Oct-17 19:20:10

'Lucas lets her go out drinking' Oh you great big fibber. Kate!!
Poor Jenny, I actually feel sorry for her for once!
Nolitando must be much nearer Phoebs in age than I remembered if she is old enough to leave school, 16 I guess.

I'm wondering if the chap that "sold" the loader to Josh is a bit of a scam artist? Let someone take it with a promise to pay, then get a mate to "steal" it, original seller demands payment, I'm sure you see what I mean.

BTW, what a numpty am I, only just realised that Justin is played by Simon Williams, who used to be in Upstairs Downstairs blush

Just to add, that ^ was a rhetorical question, no answers needed! grin

Iam64 Thu 05-Oct-17 17:15:48

No don't get out more Elrel, your attention to detail is just what's needed in the script writing room

Elrel Thu 05-Oct-17 16:52:38

Where's Josh's trailer? Did we ever find the missing bunting? What did Dr Locke know about Rob's previous life? He thought he recognised him when they first met.
Am I the only one who remembers or cares about these unresolved mysteries?! Probably!
And while I'm at it what about the unidentified car which caused Mark Hebden's fatal accident? I vaguely remember thinking it might have been driven by Alistair Lloyd when he first appeared in Ambridge.
Should I get out more? Well, yes!

Would Malian be better than Juslian? J seems very keen to absorb Lilian's property company into his empire and has been two faced before. I can't see those two making it to the altar or any alternative place of marriage.
Watch Alice, after dealing with Kate so well she must be set for a dazzling future in business!
Nolitando (?) looks set to trail chaos in her wake just like her mother. She's only about 14 isn't she? She sounds like a wannabe celeb already!

I don't mind storylines going nowhere, it reflects real life. Eventually there will be an up or a down in someone's life but the friends and nrighbours remain on the sidelines.

merlotgran Thu 05-Oct-17 10:01:31

He didn't last long did he? I rather liked the return to the 'everyday story of country folk' ethos after the Helen/Rob drama though and some of the other actors must have been glad to get their jobs back!

The (non) storyline that's getting on my nerves at the moment is whatever's going on at the vets hmm

suzied Thu 05-Oct-17 03:15:28

I see the editor(?) of the Archers is leaving after only a few months in post to go and join Emmerdale. There's been lots of criticism about the disjointed/ going nowhere storylines since the previous one ( who famously led the Rob /Helen story which got everyone hooked) left. Let's hope for some improvements.

starbird Thu 05-Oct-17 00:18:03

Iam64 I think Kate being an Archer was a plus because Ian was going to provide the sperm, thus giving them both some genetic input. Anyway, it seems like it's not going to happen after all, thanks to Alice's diplomacy!

As for Lynda and Justin why can't the scriptwriter let some people be happy? Perhaps they're saving that for Roy by bringing Lexi back to work at Grey Gables - after all she can cook a prize winning flan (or was it a quiche?)

I think Lillian + Matt are a far more entertaining couple than Lillian + Justin.
PussCat + Tiger. Made for each other

merlotgran Wed 04-Oct-17 22:11:01

Priceless conversation between Alice and Kate. grin

Iam64 Tue 03-Oct-17 21:03:14

Oh yes merlot, that's a great summary of the many possibilities. Isn't Kate related to Adam though? If so, most unwise I;d have thought on so many levels.

merlotgran Tue 03-Oct-17 20:59:55

I'd love it to be Kate. Surely a scriptwriter's dream for future years and years of storylines.

Helen's jealousy, Brian's disbelief, Jenny's interference, Ian's enthusiasm, Adam claiming the 'blood relative's' crown, Susan's gossip, Peggy's disapproval.

Bring it on! grin

Ambergirl Tue 03-Oct-17 20:39:57

I did wonder if Helen might have a baby for them and then Ian end up living with her and all the children as poor Adam seems as interested in kids as my DH did!!!! That said DH did adjust eventually!! Maybe Ian would! However the Kate idea and poor Brians reaction would be most entertaining!!

Iam64 Tue 03-Oct-17 20:07:16

No, please No. I agree that Kate is endlessly entertaining and can you imagine Brian's response? It might be worth it just for that.

What's going on with Justin and Lilian anybody? Has the vacancy of Mistress been filled already. Is he after Lilian's money because his has all been taken by the soon to be ex Mrs Justin.

NfkDumpling Mon 02-Oct-17 14:17:50

Kate! It's got to be Kate! What fun!

Elrel Thu 28-Sept-17 01:00:21

It was Pat who referred to it as pre-eclampsia

Nannarose Wed 27-Sept-17 18:30:24

Trying to remember - I don't think it was actually pre-eclampsia, but stress-related hypertension.
Would stand corrected by those with better memories though!

Elrel Wed 27-Sept-17 18:27:43

Merlot- yes, Helen seemed to have forgotten her pre-eclampsia. Or is that something unlikely to recur?

merlotgran Tue 26-Sept-17 19:58:03

To those of us who have daughters we love dearly but sometimes feel like tearing our hair out when they come up with not such brilliant ideas........Be thankful you're not Pat Archer!! grin

shysal Mon 25-Sept-17 08:51:43

I too thought of Kate, as then the baby would have a blood link to Adam's family as well as Ian.

Nelliemoser Mon 25-Sept-17 08:09:25

I have not listened much lately. I do worry about Ian and Adam though. Adam really does not seem to be at all enthusiastic about the whole idea.

The scenario of one partner being far more enthusiastic than the other in these situations is not unusual and a potential disaster waiting to happen .

Iam64 Mon 25-Sept-17 07:57:10

Fostering wouldn't be possible because they both work long, unpredictable hours. Most children placed with foster carers need someone at home all the time.
Adoption of an older child is a possibility, providing extended adoption leave means one of them can be home for a significant period to provide the love and stability needed.
I agree with Nannarose, the assessment and selection process will be difficult for these two. Adam's motivation to have a child is to save their marriage. How often do couple's in failing relationships have a baby (or move house) in the hope all will be magically transformed. Too often!

NfkDumpling Mon 25-Sept-17 07:49:07

Actually, my first thought was Kate! What about Tracy Horrobin?
