Anyone see this? (BBC 3).

Fascinating programme.

A post mortem was conducted on an anonymous cadaver weighing 17 stone. It was a female, early 60s, non-drinker.

The cause of death was heart failure brought on by obesity. The heart was enlarged due to hypertension, the lungs were waterlogged, the kidneys were scarred, the liver was diseased.

The heart slowly failed. Hard hitting stuff.

Not to my liking really, far to graphic just reading it with out watching it but I suppose it would give you cause to reflect your lifestyle and maybe ajust it somewhat.

Yes I watched it as I find anything to do with the human body fascinating. It was gory in places but amazing what medical science has learned from opening the body . It brought it home to me that the people that donate their bodies to medical science must be special. Even when dead I wouldn't want anyone peering at me in such an intense way. Having said that obviously if we died unexpectedly or inconclusive a post mortem will take place.
