I know this seems like a Sport thread but I have a question about the women who stand ,hand on hip, with high heeled shoes on. at the beginning of each race.What are they there for? I know it's a job + thankfully they are fully clothed but I'm baffled

Same applies to boxing, darts etc maybe now we have women boxers and darts players they should parade 'pretty'scantily clad men leading them out.
