The French should take lessons from the Beeb on how to do costume drama properly. A propos is which, or not, I did smile at the Euro16 ⚽️ trailer which goes "Liberté, Egalité, Footé"!!

I haven't seen it yet other than a bit that was shown on Gogglebox showing a baby that didn't look very real. Is it a French production?

Didn't even bother to finish watching the first episode it was so awful.

I thought it was going to be a rather light, frothy sort of thing, aaaaargh! That torture scene!Nice costumes and scenery mind you.

I tried watching it on Catch Up. Woke up an hour later to the closing credits! Shan't bother again.

Did anyone else find themselves laughing out loud at times? I'm afraid that I did Miss Wet T-shirt/chemise emerging from the water, Mr Darcey-style, with her clothing clinging to what looked like dressing-up box stick on megaboobs! Then the 'oh the camera's on me I'd better do my best shock/surprise/angry expression'

Typically French ... all the clothes came off in the first ten minutes, then lots of guts and gore, then surprise black baby! I needed to lie down.

I liked it when the Sun King asks his brother 'have you got my back'? and at one point calls him 'bro'. I think in general life might be too short to spend time on this silly thing.

I was going to watch it on catch up while doing the ironing this morning, don't think I'll bother now. Woman's hour will have to do.

Well I watched some (fell asleep)of the second episode - it doesn't get any better and the Sun King asks his strange brother ' Have you got my Back'- just plain silly.

Not to mention the shove it in their faces literally porn!!
