French Open on ITV4

I am addicted to tennis and having been watching it on both ITV 4 and Eurosport.

I get Eurosport both on my tv and IPad. I downloaded a free app on my IPad and I pay as and when I want it. I do not have a satellite tv. They gave me an offer of £30 for 6 months of Eurosport, it's usually a little bit more.

The advantage of Eurosport is that I am offered a number of sporting events and more than one court at RG.

The great sadness is that Rafa Nadal is out through injury, just as he was coming back on form.

I agree the BBC commentators are dire with their silly jokes and irrelevant info.

Alea, I so agree. I don't believe we've ever heard anything interesting in those interviews. They are so intrusive, with the player still gasping for breath and sweating buckets. It'd be great if they would ditch the routine formula of after every match and just do it very occasionally when something special or unexpected happens.

I'm not technologically advanced enough to have any recording devises - so when it's on, I either watch it or miss it. Adds to the drama!

But could all the channels covering sporting events, not just tennis, STOP the pitch-court side interviews.

I absolutely love it! I've watched ITV coverage of RG for some years and think they have got things spot on. I didn't particularly like Jim Courier as a player, but he is a terrific commentator. I record the whole day's coverage, then watch when I can throughout the day - and take great pleasure in fast forwarding through the ads!

I agree that the whole approach is superior to the BBC's Wimbledon coverage. A lighter touch, and yet more satisfying than the Beeb stodge. Glad to know there are other GN fans!

Yep, I'm watching. Supporting Andy Murray. When the tennis is on, it's the most tv I watch all year. The young French wild card competitor - Bourges (?) was excellent.
The coverage is good, but the ads are v. tiresome.
