I have to admit I had a tear in my eye when they announced Helen as the winner I held my breath as I too waited for Rob to collect the award.

Were any of the awards won by people who weren't Archers or related to them?

Isn't it funny (not ha ha) that we, who all who know 'Rob' is a character, worry about what he will do. How much worse for those on the end of real abuse like his. I was actually worried that he would be at the awards and take it upon himself to go up to collect Helen's Cheese trophy!

I agree with you both Lazigirl and Iam re solicitor/barrister. The one thing that I expect TA to get right are facts. They can play the characters round them but they have always been good at working round the facts.

In RL the solicitor, not the barrister does all the work, forms a relationship with their client and sends a brief to the barrister just before any hearing at which the barrister's expertise might be needed. I'm still a bit irritated that this isn't happening but even more so that so far Anna seems to be acting as solicitor/barrister in both criminal and family proceedings. In RL a barrister would be fully up to speed with coercive control in family and criminal proceedings. Ah well, thank goodness for Kaz .
As for Pat and Tony not having already decided on the least complicated simplest explanation about where mummy is if I let myself, that would really irritate me ?

Rob saying that Pat and Tony could 'sugar coat' anything they say to Henry should surely mean they can now have a chat with him and answer his questions honestly without any obvious prompting, instead of talking to him as though he's still a toddler. I often wonder if the scriptwriters have ever met a five and a half year old child.

Henry needs more contact with Tom and Johnny. Most little boys hero-worship their young, cool uncles and older cousins. They're a trump card that Rob will never be able to play. Pat and Tony should take advantage of it.

Have just had a look at a criminal law blog and apparently in RL Helen's solicitor would be seeing her much more than Anna, and in their opinion a disservice has been done by her lawyers in not requesting a Fitness to Plead assessment by two psychiatrists at this stage. I know it's supposed to be "entertainment" but am a bit concerned that in RL women (or men) who are in a coercive relationship may be listening to TA and getting some clues about how the law deals with such cases.

I've been thinking (too much!) and I wonder if it is a problem that, although, as I understand it (not at all sure of this) there have been cases brought against men (so far) for coercive control I don't think that in RL anyone has used it as a defence.

I wonder if RL Anna would have to see a really clear defence for Helen before she suggested it - if it would be the first time it had been used - and so far Helen hasn't told her very much. Hopefully, now she is beginning to understand what happened because of her conversations with Kaz/Caz(?) It would be interesting if the first use of this as a defence is on the Archers
