I really enjoyed it, but then I do love funny but macabre!
I hope it is all a setup though and not real.

We were all geared up to watch it (we love the Highlands, husband is Scottish), but after about 15 minutes I cracked first and said "This is just awful" and husband said "Thank goodness you said that first, because I agree!" It didn't seem very realistic.

We've had some "mature" stag do events in our family and they are rather sedate affairs.

I thought it was awful, too, but I couldn't stop watching it! I was fascinated by the fact that they kept getting wet but their clothes were dry by the next scene. Even the 'nice' one who got soaked whilst waiting for a lift at the beginning dried out amazingly quickly - and why was he wearing a dinner jacket when all the others were in outdoor clothes?

Just caught up and we both loved it. Probably because we enjoy things like League of Gentlemen and Charlie Brooker's programmes. Takes all sorts, I guess .

He was wearing a dinner suit NotTooOld because that's what he'd been told they would all be wearing, in the same way he'd been told they'd be meeting at the crossroads

I'm enjoying it so far, but I'm another League of Gentlemen fan. It reminded me rather of the Evil Dead films as well - a hideous fate awaiting anyone who wanders out into the woods

Pity they can't organise something similar for the oafs who were taken off the Ryan Air flight!

I think that's probably the point Teetime , you're not supposed to like the characters at the start - if you did, the things that are happening would be much more difficult to watch. Think of it as divine retribution on all those bankers who laughed while the rest of us struggled!

Yes I'm sure it is the point but its just to real for me I always felt the same about The Office- these are people I would go out of my way to avoid and I like my TV viewing easy I suppose. Back to back Midsummer Murders would suit me fine.

Don't watch Fortitude or 100 code!!

Its in the same genre as 'Deliverence' a film I watched years ago by mistake, never quite got over it!

I do find ' horrors' like this more real than the 'men from outer space' / 'vampire' type horror.

I'll watch the next episode from behind the sofa! Having made sure no one is lurking there, first!

We stuck with it to the end. Our money was on it being the fiancee.
The plot lost it's way a bit but the ending and the twist was brilliant.

We loved it! A brilliant mix of comic and horrific!

I think I missed the final episode. Can anyone tell me what happened in the end? Was it the fiancee's brother wot dunnit?

Question. What was the relevance of the policeman at the end of part 3 being Reece Shearsmith from the League of Gentleman??

Was it just a cameo role or was he in one of the episodes prior to the third one?. It was all very tongue in cheek but that particular shot of him looking at 'penguin suit' and his acknowledgement he had seen the policeman before must make sense to somebody, obviously not me.

Pogs I too wondered that, so I went back and looked at the opening of the first episode. He was part of the stag party. The accountant. He disappeared first.

I assumed that the woman who survived ( forgotten her name ) had double crossed the groom by planning to make off with the money and him.

I assume the barmaid had been paid off to call the policeman/ accountant.

He was part of the original group of friends and investors. Only his legs with his wallet in the pocket were found. When you saw her tip a body into a hole the legless torso was not him!
The bloke in the bar said the police would take an hour to arrive, he arrived quickly.

Thanks very much, it makes sense now and I agree they would obviously be in cahoots with each other. 'Penguin' probably thought that's it I'm off.

I'd forgotten that all we'd seen was a pair of legs, and he did just quietly disappear in the first episode. Also I was surprised that Reece Shearsmith had only appeared for half an episode.
