Blimey O'Reilly this good!

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 23-Feb-16 17:52:29

The old man in the wheelchair with the telescope is creepy, but my guess is he'll be useful later on. The sad man looking through the large keyhole(?) and seeing his wife having sex with a much younger man isn't really a voyeur. I think he's separated from her and just found out why she won't go back to him.

Luckygirl Tue 23-Feb-16 17:48:18

The couple having sex were his wife and a volunteer at the school refuge for the ferry passengers. Bouncing boobs were the order of the day!

I am surprised that the Iceland tourist organisation has not banned this series - it certainly is no great advert. You wouldn't catch me going there!

Stansgran Tue 23-Feb-16 17:41:23

I was a bit puzzled by the two lots of voyeurs, the old man watching the Mayor knocking his wife about and the son of the old man in the avalanche peering at the couple having sex. I got confused.

If ever a country lived up to its name!grin

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 23-Feb-16 16:29:27

I didn't think it was slow. The old man had to die and I could tell it would be 'by avalanche' grin but the way it happened wasn't quite what I expected! I do expect Andri's wife to show how much she still cares for him when he's dug out and the boyfriend will see it. He realised how much of any outsider he was this week, when emotions were running high at home over the effect on the family members of the dead daughter/sister. Not sure that relationship is going to last. Maybe he is a secret bad guy and part of the plan to get the Chinese scheme through.

Wonder what's going on with the policewoman's husband growing marijuana? Wonder if he'll make a move on the older girl? Maybe then they split up and she can get together with Andri! grin

Well, I have never seen a real avalanche as a plot device before. You have to hand it to the Scandinavians and northern types. They live life on the edge.

merlotgran Tue 23-Feb-16 09:48:45

We thought it was slow as well. I hope it picks up next week as two hours is a long time to wait for an avalanche.

Auntieflo Tue 23-Feb-16 09:36:16

Watched last Sunday's episodes, last night. Was it me, or was it just very slow? DH fell asleep! But will probably keep with it for a bit.

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 16-Feb-16 09:28:55

I wondered if Hjothur is the little boy's father.

Eloethan Mon 15-Feb-16 23:49:08

I've just watched it. It was pretty good but quite gloomy too. I had thought that Iceland looked quite an interesting place for a holiday but seeing it in such horrible weather isn't a great advert for it.

The girls were really spiteful to that poor little boy but I think children can sometimes behave unkindly when they feel insecure and confused themselves. Great little actors - especially the boy.

Excellent. We are enjoying all the latest foreign 'thrillers' at present, its been Spin ( French) Deutchland 83 ( German) as well as Trapped this week!

whitewave Mon 15-Feb-16 16:49:02

Loved it. It is one of my DSs favourite countries? Brrrrr!

merlotgran Mon 15-Feb-16 16:10:53

I'll never complain about a British winter again. grin

amberdogxK9 Mon 15-Feb-16 15:10:00

Quite agree ! The reality of bullying I suppose from 2 girls with lots of love but basically upset at their parent's break up - horrid to witness the humiliation of the little boy.

soop Mon 15-Feb-16 14:58:47

felice I was in tears when the wee lad was being bullied.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 15-Feb-16 02:29:26

My guess is it is Hjothur.

We enjoyed it too, not quite as thrilling as the other Nordic Noir we've seen, but it's early days.

marshmarigold132 Sun 14-Feb-16 19:50:08

Who is coming out of the snowstorm towards the two girls? Is it the
Lithuanian or is it Hjortur the one in the fire at the beginning? Any guesses?

annodomini Sun 14-Feb-16 19:09:39

I watched the first episode and recorded the second which I am planning to watch tonight when the Baftas are on.

nigglynellie Sun 14-Feb-16 18:45:10

Yes felice, aren't they just vile!! But what a cracker of a series! Mind you it was fairly obvious that the Lithuanian was going to attack the policeman and escape! Maybe he'll die of exposure in that dreadful weather!!

grannylyn65 Sun 14-Feb-16 18:25:58

Something else I nearly missed. Thanks Grans !!?

felice Sun 14-Feb-16 15:00:27

Very good, but I so want to get my hands on those two awful little bullies, I was giving the TV a piece of my mind hmm.

soop Sun 14-Feb-16 14:53:57

Excellent!

tanith Sun 14-Feb-16 13:55:02

Badenkate Sun 14-Feb-16 13:12:19

I agree Rhonab, it certainly made me feel cold. I'm not sure whether Iceland is on my list of places to visit or not!
