Blimey O'Reilly this good!

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 07-Mar-16 23:24:18

That's not to say the boyfriend didn't borrow the jeans! wink

merlotgran Mon 07-Mar-16 23:29:03

Glad to know I'm not the only one who's not entirely sure.

It was chaos in our house. The dogs were taunting the cat. She was hissing and smacking them round the chops. I'm shouting at DH, 'Whose trousers?'
He's shouting at the dogs and swearing he hasn't a clue what's going on and he only watches it because I like it. hmm

Roll on next week. grin

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 07-Mar-16 23:42:59

That sounds like a relaxing Saturday night! grin

Last 2 episodes on Saturday. wink

Oh joy; I have realised there's a fast forward button on my remote control that I can use. Even so I'm now falling asleep during episode 3. Thus far the police have done some very stupid things...I mean there's a limit to how many vital bits of evidence they can lose in just two episodes isn't there shock....? [actually, not even two episodes....the two main bits of evidence disappeared within half an hour of each other.....]

I've just found Wallander on one of my apps. Is it worth watching ?

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 21:54:38

Depends which one it is; there were two Wallanders [well, three if you include the English Kenneth Brannagh series which wasn't as good]and I only liked [ie fancied blush]one of them, but it was the Scandi drama that got most people hooked on them.

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 08-Mar-16 22:21:07

I have mixed feelings about Wallander.

It was one of the first subtitled TV series we watched and recently we realised we'd missed some of them and sat down to watch one. It was so slow and quite dated too, but what put us off the most is we'd not known that over the years, 3 different actors play Wallander. We really only liked Rolf Lassgård in the role, so in the end we gave up watching the shows we'd missed because it was the other actors in the leading role. I would certainly recommend watching the ones starring Rolf Lassgård. Others might feel differently though. One thing though, if you watched the English remake with Kenneth Brannagh as Wallander, the plots are basically just the same, so you'll know 'who done it! grin

WilmaKnickersfit Tue 08-Mar-16 22:26:25

Tegan sorry, just spotted your post, so which Wallander did you like then? grin

How can you fast forward through a subtitled show?! grin If you're falling asleep in episode 3, maybe you should give up. wink

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 22:30:31

Noooo..what I meant was I can now fast forward to the bit where I fell asleep and start watching from there rather than have to watch from the beginning [which is what I was doing]. I can read quite fast but not THAT fast grin. I didn't like the Wallander with the man boobs; the one I liked had the nice dog [Jussi [sp]].

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 22:32:42

....Rolf was the one I didn't like...

starbird Tue 08-Mar-16 23:10:51

Nankate. I highly recommend Borgen as with others watch series 1
First. It is more politics than gruesome murders and has some dishy actors.

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 23:12:54

I never got hooked by Borgen. To me, The Bridge, series one is the best of the lot.

Marelli Tue 08-Mar-16 23:17:37

Loved The Bridge, too, Tegan. Saga is my hero(ine)! smile

Tegan Tue 08-Mar-16 23:39:33

She's so sweet and vulnerable sad...

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 09-Mar-16 01:09:59

Tegan I get you now! grin

I loved Borgen. Think I read there might be one final series to come.

Saga is such a brilliant character. Never seen anything with a character like her before.

[Trying not to post a spoiler here] After what she's been through in the last series, I think she would react in a different way to Martin's dilema. So much has changed now and I can't imagine the path her story will take.

NanKate Wed 09-Mar-16 06:43:35

Thanks Ladies for the suggestions. I will follow up Borgen Starbird and look for the dishy actors. grin

OK - so how did the man (forgotten his name - the one who jumped out of the helicopter) finish up with the torso on his boat and who stole it from the deep freeze and why?

merlotgran Sat 12-Mar-16 23:05:40

He was part of the gang who helped whatsername (Maggi's mother) to clean up after she'd butchered whatsisname so I suppose he stole it from the freezer hmm

Alea Sun 13-Mar-16 08:17:07

I loved this but even at the end was never quite clear who was who (apart from Hagrid/Andri and his excellent police officer buddy Hinrika who was truly the hero of the series)
What an evil lot most if them were though - most be the long dark winters.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 13-Mar-16 10:05:54

I don't think I have ever watched a show where the characters' names were so hard to pronounce. We ended up using our own version of the names when we talked about it e.g. Hjotur was Hotspur.

I think the FiL will get off because he had a moment of madness after Hrafn made the comment about Hjothur and Dagny hadn't been in the fish factory. Temporary insanity or the balance of his mind was disturbed. When Andri and Eirikur were sitting together in the cell they had a little conversation about the key and Eirikur not thinking logically. María will get off because it was self defence.

Sad ending really and not overblown like so many shows. Poor Andri is left alone and lost his chance of his family all being together again. The ending left it open for another series and I hope we get another one.

LullyDully Sun 13-Mar-16 10:47:47

We , enjoyed Trapped but my my what an unemotional, humourless bunch.

trisher Sun 13-Mar-16 12:24:54

Unemotional Andri? Oh come on he was heaving with it, for his kids, his ex-wife and even his F-in-law. Just because he wasn't emoting all over the place doesn't mean he lacked emotion. Humour? well murders and missing bodies isn't a barrel of laughs.

tanith Sun 13-Mar-16 16:43:13

Enjoyed it a lot I hope they make another series too. I had an inkling the police woman's old man was somehow mixed up with it all but it seems not. Was the ferry captain not guilty of anything? I think I missed a bit there.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 13-Mar-16 17:24:05

Yes, he was arrested for human trafficking and taken away to the big city like all the guilty.

tanith Sun 13-Mar-16 17:32:36

I certainly missed that Wilma I thought he sailed away with the ferry.
