The original one is full, having reached 1,000 posts shock, so I thought we could start again!

Stepping IRL for a second: I thought Keri Davies did a good job this week with the scriptwriting.

suzied Sun 06-Dec-15 18:34:21

What's the betting she develops post natal depression? Rob will then take over the care of the baby and more excuse not to get a proper job.

Elrel Sun 06-Dec-15 18:27:59

Not a hope, Grumppa! It's Helen that will be 'put away' since Rob's mind games are increasing and could trigger a relapse into the mental state she was in a few years ago.
Wake up, Pat, Kirsty, Fallon anyone?!

Nelliemoser Sun 06-Dec-15 16:34:04

Grumppa Not a chance he's a nasty piece of work not mentally ill.

We need to set a granny lynch mob out to get him. wink

grumppa Sun 06-Dec-15 15:34:05

Isn't it time Rob was sectioned under the Mental Heath Act?

shysal Sun 06-Dec-15 15:33:01

I think we shall have a long wait Blondehedgehog!

Blondehedgehog Sun 06-Dec-15 14:30:26

Have they got rid of Rob yet? please please say YES!!!!!!!

shysal Sun 06-Dec-15 11:06:41

merlot tchgrin

My guess is he is still at Brookfield because he's been invited to Sunday Lunch by Jennifer along with the rest of them.

At least Bert won't be in danger of forgetting his own surname if Joe moves in with him.

phoenix Sun 06-Dec-15 10:41:23

Has Bert moved back into the bungalow, or is he still staying at Brookfield?

Hunt Sun 06-Dec-15 10:06:30

Joe and Bert seem to be getting on well at the moment. Perhaps Bert will ask Joe to move in with him? I wonder if the Archers Team ever look on here for ideas? !

Thanks goodness for your input Nelliemoser. I should have made the same points instead of wallowing in fear that Joe will die of a broken heart. Sadly, you may be right, Borsetshire Adult Services have probably been cut to the bone and any qualified sw replaced by unqualified staff who answer the phones and say there's no room at the inn.

I suggest the Grundy's get on to the Daily Mail - nothing it likes better than an anti sw or l.a. story and this one is perfect.

Nelliemoser Sat 05-Dec-15 08:35:31

I do not think that any decent housing association should/would put such an elderly person into what appears to be a standard mens homeless hostel.

The LA should do a full asseesment of someone in his 90s. Perhaps all the Borsetshire older persons social workers have been replaced by unqualified box tickers and points allocators with no assessments done.
As happened where I worked. (Well there are few sws still working.)

The Grundys need to get that publicised in a newspaper or on the local news media.

Iam64 Sat 05-Dec-15 08:18:43

There's the cottage at David's place, that Pip was living in but is going to the temporary cow person. I wondered when this was announced why they hadn't just suggested the Grundy's move in and Eddie help out with the cows. I do hope your'e right J52.

J52 Fri 04-Dec-15 20:52:02

I suspect someone will house the Grundy family in Ambridge at the last minute.

merlotgran Fri 04-Dec-15 20:14:42

I'm pinning my hopes on the private scan being wrong and Rob will have a nasty shock when the twenty week scan shows the baby is a girl. tchshock

Iam64 Fri 04-Dec-15 19:03:32

Yes it seems Joe may die of a broken heart. It's a good story line that reflects housing problems in areas like Ambridge but killing Joe off in a hostel feels in the same league as throwing Nigel off the roof

Elrel Fri 04-Dec-15 16:16:18

Leonora47, your possible Rob scenario is all too scarily plausible. If it were a novel I'd not be so concerned but in The Archers it appals me. The insidious Fairbrothers are enough for me regarding slow burning plot developments!

Is poor homeless Joe going to be around by New Year, anyone got a spare stable?! Are Good King Oliver and Fairy Godmother Caroline going to reappear in time to spread Christmas cheer throughout Ambridge??

starbird Fri 04-Dec-15 13:43:02

Another burning question is, will Ruth come back from New Zetalnd (and do we care if she doesn't)?

shysal Fri 04-Dec-15 11:34:05

Oops, referring to it being a boy, missed a page!

shysal Fri 04-Dec-15 11:32:58

What a shame!

merlotgran Fri 04-Dec-15 10:47:00

Johnny is also a legitimate heir isn't he?

Tom needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

Iam64 Fri 04-Dec-15 08:27:11

Arrgh please no, Leonora47. I'm with you in believing Rob is playing the long game. His over protectiveness and continued undermining of Helen, encouraging her to see herself as hopeless and dependent on him to get through the day will continue and increase.
Someone has to notice what's going on. Pat seems to have lost her rattometer, Tony, Fallon, Kirsty, PC Harrison> or even Adam

Leonora47 Fri 04-Dec-15 07:25:10

I have a strong feeling that Rob is playing the long game with the Archer Clan.
He could be with us for years.
First and foremost, he needs to get his son safely born, hence his overprotectivenes for Helen.
He will then have legal care and control of two Archer heirs.
Next he will continue to undermine Helen's self confidence, until she becomes unstable and eventually, an unfit mother: possibly having an accident involving the children. Maybe even killing or injuring herself in the process.

If not dead, Helen is sectioned and / or seriously injured - and Rob will have total control of his family.
He seems to be very charming to Lady of the Manor, Elizabeth.,
who is certainty in dire need of a personable male partner.

Quick divorce from Helen. Marry Elizabeth - job done!

merlotgran Thu 03-Dec-15 20:13:09

He'll be checking out boarding schools for Henry now I suppose.
