Anyone else feel sorry for Charlie? Adam? Ian?

rubysong Sun 13-Dec-15 19:27:36

When Ruth said it will only be their 27th wedding anniversary DH commented that she has 'the 27 year itch'. ?

merlotgran Sun 13-Dec-15 19:18:00

I could hardly bear to listen angry

Elrel Sun 13-Dec-15 19:16:17

OMG - toxic Rob, how low can he go??

Elrel Sat 12-Dec-15 20:21:19

RT p35: Jean Harvey, a resident mentioned but never heard in The Archers over the years
Sian Phillips, it says, played 'Jessie' in the original stage version of Calendar Girls. And is a huge fan of TA!

if we are to have a new actress for Ruth at least her accent is an easy one to copy.... ooooooh noooooo!

Luckylegs9 Sat 12-Dec-15 08:13:28

Rob is really getting on my nerves, can this storyline please come to an end before I go over there and tackle him. He is spoiling listening for me now. Ruth has completely changed character and don't like the way it's going, but think having saintly Jill running things would send me to New Zealand. In most families test couldn't work. The highlight is the Grundys getting back to Grange Farm, hope they get to stay, that has been a good storyline, was getting that worried for Joe.. Phoebe and Oxford another nice touch. Adam needs a rocket behind him.

Luckygirl Fri 11-Dec-15 19:40:09

Definitely adds to weight to the idea that she will come back as a new actress.

And good old Adam - he knows which side his bread is buttered!

merlotgran Fri 11-Dec-15 19:32:10

I guess Ruth won't be winning any 'Mother of the Year' awards. hmm

merlotgran Fri 11-Dec-15 14:03:34

What will the future hold for Brookfield if Ruth wants a divorce?

She'll no doubt want a substantial settlement and she's already sitting pretty with her inheritance. tchhmm

Luckygirl Fri 11-Dec-15 11:19:19

Jean Harvey is an old Archers character, but I cannot remember how she came to be written out.

Yup phoenix - I spotted the Sam reference.

chloe1984 Fri 11-Dec-15 10:27:38

I have to admit to shedding a tear after listening to last nights episode tchsmile

phoenix Fri 11-Dec-15 09:03:41

I will NOT look at pictures of the Archers cast!

BTW, did others notice that when David was at the airport with Ruth, she said she had to find the group leader, who was called Sam..........tchhmm

shysal Fri 11-Dec-15 08:40:45

This is from the Radio Times. Who is Jean Harvey? I don't recall her being mentioned in the past. She is played by Sian Phillips, second from left. Has she been shipped in just for the production of Calendar Girls.

Luckygirl Thu 10-Dec-15 22:06:58

I do not think Ruth is coming back. She is gradually being written out, so I guess the actress has other fish to fry. Or - we will get a replacement Ruth when she gets back from NZ? - will she get the accent right?

mrshat Thu 10-Dec-15 21:27:37

I'm starting to wonder whether to continue to listen! Rob makes me so angry and this whole calendar thing is getting a bit silly and I do feel some of the story lines are flogging a dead horse or as Elrel says, in effect, were written by Dickens (altho' they might be better if they had been!?) Grumpy this evening, sorry! [grumpy]

Elrel Thu 10-Dec-15 19:16:13

Hallelujah!! Hope the decorators finish in time for Joe to enjoy moving back home! Did Dickens write this script?!

Iam64 Tue 08-Dec-15 21:32:17

I must avoid catching up on this thread, when I've missed today's episode.

Rob's mum?!

I heard Adam not begging him to stay but but but…. it's been a long slow burn since last New Year's Eve, hasn't it. tchwink

chelseababy Tue 08-Dec-15 19:16:09

Charlie moving to Perthshire! Adam didnt beg him to stay but not keen on Jenny getting new hat for his wedding, will he leave Ian standing at the "altar"?

J52 Tue 08-Dec-15 19:01:23

Rob's mother was a bit tame! How far had she driven for a two min visit? She didn't seem to react as a mother would. More like a vehicle for Rob's nasty character.

Helen needs to get out now!

LullyDully Tue 08-Dec-15 18:26:10

The yurts..........of course.

chloe1984 Tue 08-Dec-15 18:22:58

The Grundys will all be housed in one of Kate's yurts over Christmas and when Caroline and Oliver return they will have a place built for them on Grange Farm land. I will not be able to hear it because if someone doesn't sort Rob out very soon my head will just explode! grin

J52 Tue 08-Dec-15 17:50:40

I think Caroline and ? Will come to the rescue and offer their house while they are away in Italy.

LullyDully Tue 08-Dec-15 17:35:07

I am a bit concerned about Grandad Grundie....surely someone will offer him a bed!!!!!

merlotgran Sun 06-Dec-15 19:30:17

I'm getting hacked off with the Brookfield lot and all their problems. What a pathetic bunch they are.

They can't even communicate to the point where a Sunday lunch invitation is actually acknowledged and more than one bothers to turn up. I wouldn't be inviting them again especially as David makes more mess than a toddler.

Poor Bert. I bet he was looking forward to a beef sandwich. sad
