The original one is full, having reached 1,000 posts shock, so I thought we could start again!

Gracesgran Mon 04-Apr-16 11:48:18

There will be a lot of folks waiting for 7.02 p.m this evening ?

merlotgran Mon 04-Apr-16 11:39:38

The whole episode was slightly bonkers. Why would Helen put on a special meal when she was intending to leave? Why put Henry at risk by leaving a half packed bag where Rob could find it? Why cook tuna bake when she knew thought Rob hated it? Why not just leave a note on the table and get the hell out of Ambridge for a few days, leaving Kirsty to put her parents in the picture.

Always the drama queen - even to the point of putting herself in danger. hmm

HannahLoisLuke Mon 04-Apr-16 11:25:55

Helen has to call the police and ambulance. Would look very bad for her otherwise.

Gracesgran Mon 04-Apr-16 09:15:57

Poor Kirsty - she must surely ring for an ambulance ... but the police? the helpline people? Tom? drive straight over?

Iam64 Mon 04-Apr-16 08:31:49

merlot, thanks for the reminder, yes he smacked her hard during the earlier part of their row so I do hope there's a black eye or finger prints on her face. Ursula will be a convincing witness for the prosecution - this storyline has a long way to run doesn't it. Plus the aftermath will be an Archer's back story for ever like Grace and the fire, Nigel and the roof etc.

OMG ! and she didn't even make that retched custard which I thought she would thrown at him. I hope in a way that he is still a teensy-weensy bit alive, so she won't get done. Phew what a long haul we've all had !

Alea Mon 04-Apr-16 07:49:08

Oh dear, I wonder if she meant his desert confused #pedantsRus

Among fans of the show expressing their reaction was the broadcaster and comedienne Pam Ayres, who claimed the instalment had left her ‘in a state of nervous collapse’.

She wrote on Twitter: ‘Gut-wrenching scenes to make you stagger, Helen stabbed him with a dagger Lying in his bloodstained shirt Rob got his pie and his dessert.’

Good old Pam grin

I imagine these cases are very difficult in real life so they are going to reflect it on the programme. That really was a stunning episode - I am duly stunned!

suzied Sun 03-Apr-16 22:18:42

Didn't Helen shout that she'd "kill him" last week when the boarding school plot was leaked out?. Ursula was present then wasn't she?
She'll be a witness for the prosecution then. Still a lot of twists and turns to go!

merlotgran Sun 03-Apr-16 21:47:21

Didn't Rob hit Helen just before the stabbing? There may be a nice juicy bruise to back up any story of self defence/protecting Henry.

I just hope she doesn't go all pathetic and sorry. She really needs to man up now.

eGJ Sun 03-Apr-16 21:41:18

What do you think Bruce will be like? A brow beaten mouse of a man? Ursula will deny EVERYTHING. Two faced and charming with Pat and Peggy. A slow burn, but what an episode! No phone calls at seven tomorrow please!
,.

merlotgran Sun 03-Apr-16 21:29:11

Maybe Ursula will let slip that she went to visit the prep school with Rob.

eGJ Sun 03-Apr-16 21:24:44

And I don't like seeing pictures in the Radio Times; they aren't the REAL people in them! grin

Gracesgran Sun 03-Apr-16 21:17:57

Goodness. Poor, poor Helen. The pictures are so intense on radio sad

Alea Sun 03-Apr-16 21:15:35

Don't think he will be eGJ hmm

eGJ Sun 03-Apr-16 21:02:46

Bruce Tichener is in the cast list as well as the DREADFUL Ursula; fast forward to 7o'clock tomorrow now please! Not sure I want him to be back in time for the birth Merlot!

LullyDully Sun 03-Apr-16 21:02:26

Just heard it as I missed it earlier. So awful that it should come to this. Why didn't Kirsty call.Pat and Tom and Tony.?Poor Helen, no.end to the trauma. Horrible horrible horrible.

Alea Sun 03-Apr-16 20:46:58

OMG OMG OMG shock!!!
Please tell me somebody else has heard tonight's episode???

HannahLoisLuke Sun 03-Apr-16 20:41:07

Oh no Merlotgran. I couldn't bear the thought of Rob coming back. That sinister voice gives me the creeps.
As for evidence. There's Kirsty, Jess and the lady from the helpline that Helen phoned.
Hopefully a lot else that he's done will come out in the wash. Berrow Farm, Stefan's disappearance, the hunting incident. And when the village starts to think back they'll all remember small things that didn't register at the time.
We live in hope!

merlotgran Sun 03-Apr-16 20:31:51

I predict a long spell in intensive care and then a miraculous recovery just in time for the birth.

shysal Sun 03-Apr-16 20:30:29

I don't think he is dead. That would be too neat an ending.sad

Iam64 Sun 03-Apr-16 20:28:32

I was absolutely gripped throughout and wept at the end. Am I a lost cause (don't answer that) Is he dead we wonder?

I'm with Nelliemoser in worrying about whether H has enough corroborated evidence to confirm long term emotional, physical and sexual abuse. Was her phone recording the incident. eGJ - great suggestion by the way that we all give evidence about what really happened.

Henry is five, rising six I think so just old enough to be interviewed as a child witness. He wouldn't necessarily be used in court proceedings but his evidence would be taken under Best Evidence to help any criminal or civil court involved in deciding his future. He's a bright, articulate little boy and given the opportunity would be open about the nice/nasty daddy scenario. He'd also be able to dispute any claim from Rob that Helen verbally abused and terrified him when sleep walking.

Wow - what an episode!

Nelliemoser Sun 03-Apr-16 20:16:08

eGJ grin of course! Hear it on listen again. The SWs could be asked to hand over all the relevant episodes to the police.

Nelliemoser Sun 03-Apr-16 20:12:31

Helen has kept this so quiet will she have enough corroborated evidence to prove what she was saying about long term abuse?

There has to be a trial and some sort of sanctions. It would be really stupid for the script writers just brush that issue under the carpet.
So in a way this will run and run. Henry is going to be traumatised. and even more irritating.
Why on earth did the stupid woman not just shut up and get out when she could instead of trying to tell him and cooking his dinner for him.

I am still a bit shocked though!
