Most annoying TV presenter?

I recorded a few of ITV daytime's 'Guess this House' for 'rainy day' watching. As well as the non-grammatical title, Saira Khan the presenter is so intense, false and loud that I have no desire to watch more than the first episode, so have deleted the rest. As a previous Apprentice contestant, she is meant to be intelligent, but even her pronunciation of (H)aitch irritates me.
Who would you choose as your most annoying presenter?

Bruce Forsyth. I know he is a talented man but he can't let anyone else have the limelight

Lilygran Thu 20-Aug-15 14:17:16

Lowri Turner. No contest!

Tegan Thu 20-Aug-15 14:15:05

Totally agree with that, Hattie.

Hattiehelga Thu 20-Aug-15 13:39:07

I used to really like Through the Keyhole and "having a nose" at how the rich live !! However, it is spoiled for me now that it is presented by creepy and unsavoury Keith Lemmon - shudder !!

mummsymags Thu 20-Aug-15 10:30:14

Oh No! Can't believe I'm so out of step! I really like Robert Peston, Alexander Armstrong, Naga Munchetty and Kay Burley I find them professional and not too egotistic - unlike Ross who, despite his wit, I find quite tedious. I used to like Tarrant when he was silly but he grew up - and so did I. Maybe it's the fate of all media personalities, if around for any length of time, to outgrow the persona they have created, but get stuck with, and then have to continue performing in that role. Can't imagine a worse fate!

Eggheads......ugh......the expressions on their faces when JV says they've won (again), as though they are thinking "Yes, yes, we know. Finish the programme and let's get out of here" Smug bunch. Or maybe they're just bored with it and have grown used to the money?

I wouldn't swap with any of them, terrible job.

Agree with Jimmy Carr, Ross, Robinson and the truly awful Clarkson, but does anyone find Sally from South Today as irritating as I do? Also, I know she's not a presenter but if the "Sturgeon'appears, as an exiled Scot I have sing very loudly, mute the TV or leave the room! Sorry, rant over!

KatyK Wed 19-Aug-15 20:18:39

Oh no I can't stand Jimmy Carr either. Also Anne Robinson - awful.

chocolatepudding Wed 19-Aug-15 19:33:37

DH enjoys 8 out of 10 cats does countdown - but I cannot stand Jimmy Carr. Always some sort of innuendo in whatever he says and his laugh!!!!

Don't like Keith lemon, Johnathon Ross, graham norton always turn programmes off when they are on.,Jeremy clarkson Len goodman now overplays his part. I do like Robert Peston though. Couldn't do the job but I really don't know why people listen to Ross .

grandmac Wed 19-Aug-15 19:12:17

Never could stand Jonathon Ross or Jeremy Clarkson or Russell Brand or Chris Evans or Vanessa Felz. Don't know why! Was put off Naga Munchetty when she asked a bereaved lady how the death of her brother made her feel.
Also always detested Michael Barrymore. (I was proved right there I think)

Bill Turnbull is lovely, comes across as a really nice bloke to me. It's Krishnan Guru-Murthy on Channel 4 who gets up my nose, he can be SO rude.

rosesarered Wed 19-Aug-15 16:41:58

Ross, Paxman,Vine all annoying as presenters, but are probably ok in real life, so many put on a persona for tv.

rosequartz Wed 19-Aug-15 16:29:29

Why does Carol Kirkwood always pronounce Scotland and England 'Scotlind' and 'Englind'? I have Scottish friends from various regions of Scotland and they don't pronounce land as 'lind'.

auntbett Wed 19-Aug-15 16:15:57

Keith Lemon. I have to turn the telly off.

Cosafina Wed 19-Aug-15 16:04:08

I love Naga Munchetti and Charlie Stayt. Bill Turnbull is OK, quite like Steph and can just about cope with Louise Minchin, but really can't stand Sally Nugent (if we're going with Breakfast presenters).
Jeremy Clarkson I could kill barehanded, and I agree with everyone about CJ from Eggheads.
Love Paxo, but I don't like the way he belittles some of the students on UC if they don't get an answer right - they're only young kids!

BEST presenter (in my humble opinion) is Bradley Walsh (?) on The Chase.

Indinana Wed 19-Aug-15 16:04:01

Oh and Carol Kirkwood, she drives me nuts. That dreadful, false smile that never seems to leave her face, even when she's telling us about the most Godawful weather that's about to rip our roofs from above our heads. Seriously, no-one can be that happy all the time.
I used to work with someone like that - she was a receptionist who slapped this huge sparkly smile on every time someone approached her. And the number of times she would turn, after they'd gone, with a grimace and say how much she detested them.... Not suggesting she should scowl at them, but come on, a polite smile instead of over the top gushing would have been more appropriate hmm

I am questioning the new presenters, young woman, name escapes me, she was learning to shoot last Sunday.
Not exactly a Farmers daughter....

nanaval Wed 19-Aug-15 15:56:27

Chris Evans
Vanessa Feltz
Jeremy Clarkson
Jonathan Ross

SUPERGRAN55 Wed 19-Aug-15 15:54:43

On the subject of Eggheads, I much preferred it when Dermot Murnaghan was the main presenter. There's something about Jeremy Vine I find off-putting - he sometimes comes across as a bit smug.

Same thing goes for the 'new' female Egghead, Lisa, who, like CJ, has a rather supercilious manner which I find very irritating. Bring back the lovely Daphne Fowler!

jeberdes83 Wed 19-Aug-15 15:28:16

Can't stand Steph's broad accent, she needs some elocution lessons!hmm

Faraway43 Wed 19-Aug-15 15:25:09

Eamon Holmes and Ruth Lansford we know they are husband and wife but do they have to be sooo lovey Dovey, he's always making references to 'my wife' yuk. Hurry back Phillip

jollyg Wed 19-Aug-15 14:48:18

I used to see the ozzie fellow on BBC world, nauseating.

I wake up early and listen to World service. There is a fellow with a pronounced 'african 'accent, but he is a splutterer, looses the plot, waffles,

ALAN KASSUJA, starts about bst 4.00, The good news he is only on for 3 nights , Mon to Wed.

I do despair of the choice of presenters BBC uses, Munchetty.

But at least it stimulates the grey cells.

KatyK Wed 19-Aug-15 14:47:21

I rather like Robert Peston too. Can't stand Jonathan Ross or that Kay somebody who occasionally appears on Loose Women. I can't stand Lorraine Kelly either - so sycophantic.
