Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity to be announced - will he be the first one off?

durhamjen Sun 22-Nov-15 23:01:14

I thought that tonight was the first time that Len had disagreed this series. I was hoping he was going to because Jamelia was much better.

Ana Sun 22-Nov-15 22:51:23

They are, aren't they? Cringe-making!

merlotgran Sun 22-Nov-15 22:48:00

The singers are terrible this series.

rosesarered Sun 22-Nov-15 22:46:11

I agree with you number and whitewave

whitewave Sun 22-Nov-15 22:41:06

Thought the whole show was poor. Who on earth was the woman singer! Take that was awful, choreography was rubbish. Wrong person left.

numberplease Sun 22-Nov-15 21:34:51

Maybe Peter will be better in the coming weeks than Jamelia would have been, but the judging is supposed to be for each particular week`s performance, and Jamelia was definitely better than Peter this week. His kicks and flicks were non existant.

Anya Sun 22-Nov-15 21:28:33

I didn't like all that 'yes, I deserve to be in the dance off' from Peter A - methinks he's overdoing it - and that wasn't a jive anyway!

Jane10 Sun 22-Nov-15 21:02:30

Very off putting about the whole show sad

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 22-Nov-15 20:55:50

Every year or two the same thing happens. The judges usually say something about the dance off performances before they say who they want to save, and then we get a week like tonight where all they say is who they want to save (apart from Darcey who cocked up by saying Peter had improved) . And Len always disagrees with them.

Jane10 Sun 22-Nov-15 20:52:25

Oooh! Good gossip wilma! Makes sense though -bit of a fit up. Poor Jamelia.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 22-Nov-15 20:52:15

Yes. DD read that out from Twitter. Obviously put up. I suppose Peter A will keep the viewers looking in. hmm

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 22-Nov-15 20:48:33

Bit of gossip from last night's show. Peter and Janette had to dance twice in the dance off because the audience didn't give them a standing ovation and the producers were not happy. wink

annodomini Sun 22-Nov-15 20:43:57

I was astonished that the three judges voted for Peter. I thought that Darcey, in particular, looked rather embarrassed and wondered if it had been a fit-up. Agreed with Len who would have chosen Jamelia.

Anniebach Sun 22-Nov-15 20:40:36

Replace Cladia and Tess, stop the judges dancing on, and stop Graig now giving really low marks which are done to cause a booing making him a panto demon king. Stop the rubbish filming celeb and pro doing really silly things like visiting the zoo, fairground etc, let's see them rehearse for more than ten seconds

Obvious the judges think Andre is chocolate , do they think more viewers whilst he is there

Charleygirl Sun 22-Nov-15 20:22:35

I also thought that Jamelia was so much better tonight. She was so gracious when given the result.

loopylou Sun 22-Nov-15 20:17:55

Having just watched the first 5 minutes tonight (I haven't seen any up to now) the audience 's oohing and aahing completely put me off....I'm truly turning into an old grouch, aren't I?
I think it's lost it's way, over-exposure or something.

Sorry GN fans!

Lona Sun 22-Nov-15 20:17:42

Yes, Jamelia was much better IMO.

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 22-Nov-15 20:05:04

What was that all about?! Jamelia was much better! shock

Did the judges look embarrassed at (having to make?) that decision? confused

numberplease Tue 17-Nov-15 17:16:40

Teetime, haven`t you been to Blackpool Tower? Blackpool itself isn`t my choice for a holiday, but the Tower ballroom, well, that`s something else, a most beautiful place, and so nostalgic. I still remember Reginald Dixon at the organ as it rose from below the stage, playing "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside"!
As to the final winner, I`d love it to be Anita.

annodomini Tue 17-Nov-15 12:26:44

I would like to suggest to the producers that next time they recruit a group of complete beginners. At the beginning, Strictly was more like that. It would provide a 'level playing field' at least at first, before the naturally talented contestants began to emerge.

Lupin Tue 17-Nov-15 11:33:35

I really took to Jeremy because of his enjoyment of it all. A sincere ray of sunshine and such fun to watch. He said it himself though - it was time he went because better dancers than him had been voted off. My money is on Jay or Georgia.

Jane10 Tue 17-Nov-15 10:25:08

I agree. Its not fair on the complete beginners who turn out to be terrific dancers (or otherwise Jeremy!)

Charleygirl Mon 16-Nov-15 20:45:55

I do not think that Jay should have taken part because of his extensive dance training.

numberplease Mon 16-Nov-15 16:01:49

Records would be better, but they`re trying to reproduce the old ballroom style, with an orchestra and singers, so doubt if that will change.
Gillybob, you say that trained dancers shouldn`t take part, yet you`d like Jay to win. He did 6 years dance training at 2 separate dance academies.

Alima Mon 16-Nov-15 15:51:12

Will miss Jeremy, he tried so hard and improved over the weeks. The others were all fairly good to begin with except maybe Jamelia. The singers are awful now. Would it be improved if they danced to records?
