Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity to be announced - will he be the first one off?

gillybob Wed 12-Aug-15 16:19:02

My DGD's (9 and 7) bought me Strictly Live Tour tickets for christmas last year. It was a fantastic suprise and we had a great time just the three of us. Sadly no Len but Craid Revel Hoarwood (spelling ???) was very funny and a fab dancer.

Haven't got a clue who Kellie Bright is?

Pleeeeeeeease not Richard and Judy my mum has only just stopped talking about them as though they are her long lost best friends, after they left "this morning" (or whatever it was called) . Couldn't go through that again.

Teetime Wed 12-Aug-15 16:17:40

OMG couldn't bear to watch Ainsley cook let alone dance!

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 12-Aug-15 15:22:20

Officially announced so far -

Jeremy Vine
Ainsley Harriot
Kellie Bright

Yes, I am an addict.

Mimotron1 Wed 12-Aug-15 15:10:20

I agree, I know who jeremy vine is. Its a bit like all the 'celebs' on the daily mail on line. I havent a clue who most of them are and frankly I dont care. But I do care about saturday evenings, love autumn and strictly!

ninathenana Wed 12-Aug-15 11:07:45

I know Linda Carter (Eastenders ) but didn't know her real name.

Maggiemaybe Wed 12-Aug-15 10:38:30

I love the rubber band legs tango. Oh how it reminded me (not) of my being inspired by Strictly to book DH and I some dance lessons. We were without a doubt the Ann Widdicombe and John Sargeant of that poor dance teacher's world.

merlotgran Wed 12-Aug-15 10:25:06

The first one to go on my 'never 'eard of 'er' list hmm

ninathenana Wed 12-Aug-15 10:14:26

Yes, Kellie will be interesting.

kittylester Wed 12-Aug-15 10:10:11

Oh goodie! I love her!

Pittcity Wed 12-Aug-15 08:43:28

Next up is Kellie Bright aka Linda Carter (Eastenders).

ninathenana Wed 12-Aug-15 08:37:10

Oh no !! Ainslie Harriot (sp) is a contestant.

A reason not to watch the new series.

Lona Wed 12-Aug-15 08:33:49

feetle I quite liked the older man but I think it would have been more believable with a lithe younger man! #mustcalmdown!
I also remember Chester Harriot, we used to see him often playing in bars and clubs in Manchester. He was a lovely man.

@NanKate -

What do you think of the Milonga ?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4G03HpzArc

Is your comment re age difference a typically temperate zone attitude, I wonder? I have a feeling they don't care about such things in warmer parts of the globe...! Actually I liked the older chap - a great sense of authority there - does that make any sense at all?

NanKate Tue 11-Aug-15 21:33:08

Fabulous, sensual dance Feetle just wish the male dancer didn't look like he was dancing with his daughter (age wise) I know that is a very ageist comment, but if I at 68 had been dancing with a young lithe man (fat chance) it too would have looked odd.

Anyway back to the dancing it was brilliant.

feetlebaum Tue 11-Aug-15 21:16:01

Excellent! Reminds me of 'She stood on the Bridge at midnight/Throwing snowballs at the moon/She said she'd never had it/|But she spoke too flippin' soon!'

Ainsley Harriot - I'm old enough to remember his dad, Chester who had a double act with Vic Evans... (sigh)

rosesarered Tue 11-Aug-15 19:47:19

Feetle, .......' She stood on the bridge at midnight, her lips were all a'quiver, she gave a cough, her leg fell off, and floated down the river!'
I have heard Tommy Cooper say that .grin not exactly Longfellow is it?

Pittcity Tue 11-Aug-15 19:24:08

Ainsley Harriot has just been announced on the One Show.

feetlebaum Tue 11-Aug-15 13:42:46

'We'll blindfold the band and dance until dawn!'

Elegran Tue 11-Aug-15 13:18:44

Dance as the vertical expression of a horizontal desire?

feetlebaum Tue 11-Aug-15 12:30:25

"She gave a cough/Her leg dropped of/And floated down the river." Was that from one of Eric Morecambe's?

How about a nice Milonga?

feetlebaum Wow! That was stunning. Watched it twice. Thank you for sharing that.

annsixty Tue 11-Aug-15 09:26:32

I really thought her leg was going to fly off and land in the audience. It appeared to be fixed on by the large rubber bands like the dolls of my childhood . What a performance.

Lona Tue 11-Aug-15 09:03:40

Phew! And phew! again!
Thanks for that feetle, you've just reminded me of things I was trying to forget! grin

feetlebaum Mon 10-Aug-15 22:33:55

I am pretty much dance-proof - but this performance warms my cockles in an extraordinary way...

From the first notes from the orchestra, it's drama...

Aw, I love Bruno! We always watch it, but it gets spoilt for daughter and me, because hubby decides on day one who he thinks should win, and it`s hell around here if they don`t! They never have yet!!
