Jeremy Vine is the first celebrity to be announced - will he be the first one off?

I think Carol was the right one to go this week and maybe should have gone earlier. Once Jeremy and Katy have gone it will be hard to choose. I agree that Jay is good but needs to work on personality. My favourite is Anita.
numberwe are supposed to be too old to notice Gleb( or any of them!)
Well, Carol has gone, but Jeremy gets another week, amazing.
If Peter doesn`t win, life in this house will be hell for a day or so, as that`s who my husband has decided on is going to be the winner. He does this every year, and his choice has yet to win! Personally, I`d like to see Anita win, she`s doing really well for a complete non dancer before Strictly. Also, Gleb is GORGEOUS!
I am not keen on Katie Price tbh. I agree she's a good business woman, but she certainly does not keep her children out of the public eye, especially her disabled son Harvey. She regularly uploads photos of her children to Instagram which then appear elsewhere and in fact, was slammed last week by many of her own fans after uploading photos of two of her daughters wearing hats with real fur. She's always maintained she's against animal cruelty, so it was a bit of an own goal for her. She got into a slanging match on social media, which didn't do her any favours either.
When he was younger, she did keep Harvey out of the public eye, but now she's happy to be photographed with him at charity events which is good for raising the profile of the charities, but is also great PR for her. In the last few years she's given lots of interviews with him, mainly about how she worries about Harvey's future. I don't doubt for one minute she is worried, but again it's great PR.
When she had her own fly on the wall TV series with Peter Andre, I watched an episode and couldn't believe her behaviour. Yes, she was playing to the camera, but I thought she was dreadful. Peter came over as a bit of a wimp who couldn't stand up to her, but it was probably more that he couldn't cope with her. I can honestly say that I don't know of any British celebrity who is a bigger publicity seeker. She's a hard working woman who knows how to work the media for her benefit - including using her children if necessary. I don't think that necessarily means she's a bad mother, but it does make her a good business woman.
That said, Peter works the media too and is snapped all the time with his new wife Emily (she's a recently qualified doctor) and his children (from his marriage to Katie and his new baby with Emily). I find these photos less sleazy, but he's essentially doing the same thing as Katie - keeping himself in the public eye.
Sorry to go on so long.
Katie is such a contradiction isn't she? On the one hand she has her children and horses, and on the other a succession of unsuitable men. (Not Peter, because he did seem to try and keep her in touch with reality) She seems unable to grasp that if she models herself along the lines of an inflatable doll that is how most men are going to see her. I suspect that her daughter will grow up, drop the name Princess and refuse any sort of cosmetic surgery.
Thought this week's Strictly was very good. A couple more people to go and then it will be very difficult to pick a winner.
I like Katie Price too. Go (I mean GO !) Carol.
Wilma that's exactly what I said to my OH - Claudia looks as if she's wearing a bath towel!
Apologies for going very much off topic but I just can't warm to Peter Andre. I don't think he's genuine. And even more off topic, am I the only person who likes Katie Price? I don't like page 3 and I would have hated my daughter to become well known through that route, but in other ways I respect KP. I think she's a good mum to her children, she keeps them out of the public eye (unlike Mr Andre), she's made her money herself, not through a man, and I admire the way she picks herself up and carries on when yet another man treats her badly.
Sorry, back to Strictly now (which I love by the way). My favourites are Helen and Jay so far.
Carol is unadulterated SUGAR. Time to go, let's hope! Can't wait to hear her leaving speech, hope it is tonight. Poor Pasha, time to get back to a woman with a bit of oomph!!
Carol always looks slim and attractive when doing the weather on breakfast telly but on Strictly she looks like someone who has answered the front door in her nightie.
Get away with you - I'd rather just watch the programme and find out then, thank you!

I've just looked to see who's been eliminated and am rather pleased! Just check the bookies odds if you want to know and you will see they are offering odds on only nine now.
Carol always looks rather embarrassed to me, as if she wishes she was somewhere else reading the weather. If I was in Strictly (they'll get round to asking me one day) I would probably look and feel the same. I feel the actors and actresses have an advantage over the others in that they know how to get into a role and become someone different; Carol definitely doesn't have that knack and neither does Jay. Some time ago someone on GN described Jay as 'a big toddler' (it might have been Jing) and I think that is very apt, hence my earlier comment that Aliona is mothering him rather than getting up to anything naughty with him.
Am I alone in finding Carole extremely irritating? I feel rather sorry for Pasha.
I always think that she is dressed so frumpishly.
I think Carol would look much better in brighter colours.
granma47 I normally dine an hour or so later but on a Saturday I am sitting down eating around 6.15pm and most weeks have to take my eyes off what I am doing in case I miss something. For me it starts too early- it is too soon to settle down watching TV for the evening.
Somehow I just do not like Jay- he does not appear to like criticism. I think that Georgia is a very good dancer but she is young. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Carol stays in another week but if she is voted into the dance off that will be the end I am afraid.
Jay is 25 Teetime although he acts much younger. Georgia is the youngest of the celebs. I think she is 24. I'm not keen on Jay's little boy lost act but he is a lovely mover on the dance floor. He needs to use his facial expressions more - he always looks a bit fixed somehow.
We record it and watch it to time in with the meal stopping and starting as we need to. It was a stir fry last night which was easy to do. Loved Jay's tango. I know the judges wanted to get him to show passion but he is only young perhaps he hasn't felt real passion yet. Peter Andre just doesn't do it for me.
Is Strictly disrupting anyone else's Saturday evening mealtimes. I don't want to spend time cooking whilst its on but eating before it starts is too early and 8:00 is getting late for us. I have tried making things like lasagne and casserole to eat whilst it is on but even then I have to take my eye off the screen for a while. Very frustrating.
I like Peter too and can't imagine what life was like with Katie Price. Much better show this week and my votes went to Georgia & Giovanni and Jeremy & Karen. Aliona looked stunning tonight, but I was disappointed with her AT with Jay. I am not sure if he's improving, he's as good now as he was at the start. He needs to do what the others do and get into a character for each dance. I didn't like Carol's dress because I thought it washed her out. Jamelia looked lovely though. Claude looked like she was wearing a bath towel!
PS Remember you can send me a PM if you want to know the result.
I think that being the forceful type that she is, Katie Price probably chose their childrens` names. After all, she`s called the latest one Bunny! Peter`s Charleston tonight was very good though. I enjoyed the whole programme tonight, whether folk were good or not. Nobody was particularly bad. I like it when the judges have little spats amongst themselves.
Oh, ok, Ana, I'll ignore the fact that he called his daughter Princess and carry on liking him, too. Perhaps Katie Price chose the name Princess anyway!
Back in the days when he was married to the awful Katie Price I watched a few of the 'fly on the wall' programmes about their life together (sad, I know!). He really did come across as a genuinely 'nice guy', and the stuff he had to put up with from her would try the patience of a saint.
So although I can see how he might come across to some people, I still like him.
It was amazing, that backward thing that Anita and Gleb did!
