I worry about the man who was co-ordinating the escapes. His face was clearly shown so surely he must be a target?

It was not an easy programme to watch but very informative.

I was heartened seeing that man co ordinating those other men to help the escapes. The sudden sight of those black clad women straggling up the hill was so dramatic. Feisal's happiness at his mother's escape was wonderful.

A saying ( I think from the 2nd world war) springs to mind with this horror.
'Evil flourishes when good men do nothing'

Baroness Nicholson is the woman involved. She did a lot of work with the Kurds when Saddam was gassing them. She's one of the good ones.

I found it in Catch-up, and have just watched it. Such brave men - and also the women and girls who have been rescued. It's beyond belief that such terrible atrocities can be carried out. The stoning of the young woman, with her father taking part, will take a long time to leave my mind.

A feature about it was on Radio 4, as well as the Channel 4 programme. I heard it whilst driving somewhere. In this case it was a woman who seemed to be in charge of an organisation trying to save these girls.

One of Channel 4's excellent Dispatches programmes.

Does channel 4 have a woman's hour? I had just spotted it in the schedules and set the recorder. I was interested as id been in correspondence with our (then) MP regarding what we were doing to help the Yazidi people. Poor poor souls.

I think it was part of a Womans Hour.

I can't remember. I had recorded it. It will be on the ch4 I player though.

When was the programme on?

Luckygirl Sun 19-Jul-15 20:10:37

I heard those girls too - and one of the schoolgirls who had heard what they had to say. I truly do fear for the safety of those returning girls though - they will not be flavour of the month with ISIS and I do hope that they are being protected in some way.

Very moving. Those very brave men. Did you hear that Germany have taken 1000,000 Yasidi people.
Very interesting piece on the Radio yesterday. It featured 3 Yasidi girls who had been rescued. They were telling young Muslim boys and girls about their horrifying ordeals at the hands of isis.
What angered me was, these young Muslim people had no idea what is happening. Why is this? I have my own opinions.

Wow! Just watched a recording of this fantastic ch4 documentary about a brave group who rescue women and children from isis Tears pouring down my cheeks when I saw the reunions. So many saved but so many more lost probably forever. I just hope any silly wee girls over here who think it would be exciting to run off and join them saw this programme. It also made me proud to know that our pilots were involved in attacks against isis targets despite apparently our govt voting against this. If you haven't seen it -check it out: life inside an isis town is worth knowing about.
