The three tenors opening tonight's programme about "The Classical Voice" with O Sole Mio, then a clip of Pavarotti singing Panis Angelicus <sigh> [swoon] emoticon.

I'm watching it too. Isn,',t it glorious. I love opera.

Still swooning -with a smile on my face smile

I have been watching this series. Very good.
IMO they still can't beat Placido Domingo although I think he is now singing in a slightly lower register.

I'm only half way through this but it is soo interesting. I'm learning so much about singing - and all those wonderful voices!

Just been watching the mezzo sopranos. Wonderful Janet Baker (hope the neighbours didn't mind it at full blast!)

I am hooked on it. What am I going to do when it finishes. What power those Mezzo sopranos and Altos have.

Janet Baker is truly the best - no blooming vibrato and such an intelligent and thoughtful approach to her singing. It was strange to see her looking so old.

I have just finished watching last night's programme and Janet Baker's Dido ("When I am laid in earth") has reduced me to a snivelling wreck. What a voice, what beauty, what pathos! sad sniff!

I was surprised to find that Janet Baker was still alive! It seems years and years since she retired from performing. I saw her do some wonderful concerts at the Festival Hall before I was married, usually with the equally wonderful Fischer Dieskau smile I don't think you can beat her singing Where Corals Lie - absolute perfection!
