Kylie coming back will be interesting. I agree a bit misery overload at the moment, but I'm still watching!

I haven't watched the 2 episodes I missed yet, so didn't know Kal is dead. One of the reasons I stopped watching months ago was the scripts were so miserable. I don't mind misery and drama but Corrie has a record for interspersing those story lines with humour. I hope Tracey gets her just deserts this time

It'll be interesting when Tony comes back: he still owns half the pub and Tracy's shop.

I agree it was pretty daft but I must have suspended disbelief while watching it as I found it quite gripping.

But also very depressing - three storylines that were really grim. I agree with Charleygirl, I hope this Carla situation doesn't drag on for weeks. It's quite ridiculous but I find these deceit/betrayal/blame storylines quite upsetting.

It's nice to have a bit of drama but I prefer it when it's interspersed with humour.

I only hope that the fire scenario does not drag on for weeks with everybody accusing Carla of killing Kal. It is time that Tracey got her commupence.(spelling?)

Yes it probably was Ana and well done from the bits I did see.

Your summary of the daft fire scenario is spot on. I kept wondering why none of the other residents were leaving the building. As for Leanne and Kal running into that level of flames n smoke - I don't think so. Funny that the ring road stopped the fire engines arriving.

Anyroadup - I did like Sean's new hair cut and I enjoyed the awful Amy creeping round Carla. I may watch the other 2 on catch up over the weekend. Maybe I'm getting hooked again…..

I thought that was one of the more realistic (unfortunately) storylines in Corrie of late.

I agree with others that the fire scenario was daft - where were the other residents of the flats, and surely a fire alarm would have gone off?
Leanne, Amy and Kal standing around in the burning room acting 'terrified' without making for the obvious route out was just cringey...

I've watched corrie on and off since it started. Faye's pregnancy led me into an "off" phase. I didn't want that child to have a baby. I like the Carla character and watched 3 of this week's episodes because of her central involvement and also because I want Steve and Michelle to be happy. There - how sad am I.

I enjoyed the scene when Tracey returned from setting the flat on fire and Ken groaned "what have you done now". Tracey's response was excellent. See I can suspend belief about some story lines, but that little Faye was beyond me sad

I gave it a miss this week, mostly because it's been on at a time to interfere with other viewing. And also because it threatened to be the usual high drama rubbish.

Thank you for the round-up Suzied. grin

You're spot on J52. Complete tosh! They will soon be rating all soaps by the number of disaster scenarios they can devise or by maniacs-per-square-yard!

glammanana Fri 29-May-15 09:08:28

So many similar story lines being run between all the Soaps at the minute have they got no decent script writers any more.

J52 Fri 29-May-15 08:29:06

Watched this week. Appalling direction/ acting if that's where the fault was.

A burning block of flats with no other residents!?

Carla was on deaths door after in hailing smoke, yet Leanne, bloke and Amy stood in burning flat having a conversation!

All the other Corrie lot stood and looked on, didn't know where to get a ladder, penny drops - the builders yard! Also very large ladder, easily managed.

David, Jenny didn't hear a thing or go out to look. When they found out were very calm.

So unrealistic for many reasons! Could have been dramatic, but way below standard!

Haven't watched it for a couple of years now.

It is a bit OTT this week. The Liz/Tony/Tracy situation was enough for me! I like it best when there is more humour though.

After 35 years of watching Coronation Street I lost the habit at the beginning of this year after a spell in hospital. Free at last!!

However, having read your post I am, for the first time, tempted to start watching again. smile

suzied Fri 29-May-15 06:45:49

It's all happening, fire in Carla's flat with little Amy in started by Tracey, Liz finding out about Tony's affair ( with Tracey), mad Jenny about to abduct little Jack, Maddie in hospital, Leanne agreeing to marry Kal just before he gets caught in burning flat exploding ( why did they take so long getting on the ladder?), David and Max saga( I think Kylie is about to reemerge) and there are probably other stories I have forgotten. It's all a bit too much but I'm really enjoying it!
