A few people I know think that this latest ad is very funny. Me? I think it`s verging on disgusting. If a bloke stuck his bum out at me like that, I`d stick a pin in it!

Now that really DOES make me feel sick!!

Someone should have informed Social Services about Baby Oleg.
The poor wee mite was left on the doorstep then taken in for a short while before being unceremoniously dumped out in Africa.

PS DH says the scene with the lion, where the babymeerkats are roaring and playing at being lions themselves, remind him of the grandchildren. I think he sees himself as the lion and the grandkids as the roaring baby meerkats. There are definite similarities..

I used to like the one when he was still in Coronation Street wearing a blue patterned babygro, the one where he watches a mobile go round and falls backwards, asleep. Aaah. But thank you, Ana, for reminding me that he now has friends to play with. I hope he's happy.

Blimey - listen to me. I'm not really such a silly old fool. :-)

Aw...grin

Elegran Sat 31-Jan-15 23:38:15

I think he is creepy in the adverts.

Ana Sat 31-Jan-15 23:31:57

Elegran, I agree that the toy Oleg is a bit creepy, but in the tv adverts he's adorable!

merlotgran Sat 31-Jan-15 23:17:47

I mentioned on another thread a few months ago that I once worked for the billionaire who was the brains behind the meerkat adverts.

I choked on my G&T at the thought of him being responsible for cuddly, fluffy characters. hmm

Elegran Sat 31-Jan-15 23:12:14

Am I odd? The grownup meerkats are Ok, but I think baby Oleg is ugly and bit creepy.

Ana Sat 31-Jan-15 22:37:40

Oh, come on NotTooOld - he has lots of little friends to play with now, and I think Auntie and Uncle left the babygro with him! smile

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 31-Jan-15 22:31:07

I love it. Very funny. link here for anyone who hasn't seen it grin

NotTooOld Sat 31-Jan-15 22:11:19

I love Baby Oleg. Pity they've dumped him off with ancient relative in the desert without his babygro. Sob, sob.

annsixty Sat 31-Jan-15 22:09:29

Oh I really want Baby Oleg but no car and no insurance needs. How sad am I?

Deedaa Sat 31-Jan-15 21:13:24

I've got 3! But I'm very jealous of GS2 who has got Baby Oleg grin

numberplease Sat 31-Jan-15 18:31:37

I know Galen, I`ve got 2!

loopylou Sat 31-Jan-15 16:51:55

Puts me off MiniMouse, just like probably 99% of all adverts!

MiniMouse Sat 31-Jan-15 16:49:15

It may lead to discussion, but does it encourage us to use the product? A bit like the double glazing one in which the man SHOUTS the whole way through. Just makes me think they'd be last company I'd use!

Galen Sat 31-Jan-15 16:24:54

You get a free meercat with co,pare the market.

loopylou Sat 31-Jan-15 16:20:42

Seriously disturbing, 'Dave' looks like (how I imagine) a serial killer....hmm
Pretty sure anyone mincing down our village high street dressed like that would finish off some of the more elderly residents!
Much prefer the elephant one smile

vampirequeen Sat 31-Jan-15 15:01:40

I love it until Sharon Osborne appears.

alex57currie Sat 31-Jan-15 12:03:21

Anya your response made me chuckle. I so agree. First time I saw it I was drinking coffee. I choked on it and spat it out. My sil laughed. I asked him if he thought the add was funny. He said "no, just your reaction" .

tanith Sat 31-Jan-15 11:47:13

It's weird for sure but it does what its meant to do and get people talking about the 'moneysupermarket ad',

Martin Lewis owned 'Moneysaving Expert' a completely different website.

KatyK Sat 31-Jan-15 11:37:21

It's awful. My DGD thinks it's great. confused Maybe it's a generation thing.
