rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:49:34

Yes, I am !

Greenfinch Thu 08-Jan-15 22:46:58

You're joking roses ! shock.

Charleygirl Thu 08-Jan-15 22:37:23

wot phoenix you and Mr.P do not walk down a road hand holding? I am shocked.

I agree, I watched the programme this evening and it also struck me that it does not seem to matter how many years they have been married- they all appear to be madly in love specifically for the programme.

rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:36:36

It had a bigger garden.

rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:35:51

greenfinch in answer to your question, he bought a house in Leeds.grin

rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:34:35

Well jane next time that happens say 'one man's meat is another man's poison!' and while they are working that one out, zip straight into the shop.wink

Greenfinch Thu 08-Jan-15 22:30:13

I only watched half the programme as that chap who wanted to live near his parents in Poole and refused to consider Bournemouth so annoyed me. What happened to him in the end ?

janerowena Thu 08-Jan-15 22:26:14

grin roses I have that problem too! Or I get spun round by DBH&Son both shouting and laughing 'Bad Shop Alert!'

FarNorth Thu 08-Jan-15 22:23:26

Think you're probably right soontobe, not that I'd actually noticed the hand-holding.
What gets me is the people who keep insisting they expect to get exactly the type of house they want in exactly the area they want, when it's clear that it isn't possible.

soontobe Thu 08-Jan-15 22:22:43

ooh, could be that janerowena.

Deedaa Thu 08-Jan-15 22:22:03

Perhaps the programme makers think we're too thick to realise that they are a couple unless they hang on to each other.

I happened to catch Wanted Down Under a couple of days ago and was a bit bemused by the woman who said that she'd forgotten how far away Australia is. I mean - it's Australia! That's the whole point of the programme!

rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:21:32

However, I have noticed that when we are out shopping and pass clothes/shoe shops Mr Roses is suddenly keen to hold my hand[to steer me away from their doors.]

janerowena Thu 08-Jan-15 22:21:05

Or feel the need for physical reassurance - it must be quite stressful, being on tv. I know DBH and I hold hands more in that sort of situation.

rosesarered Thu 08-Jan-15 22:20:08

I've never noticed this happening [the holding hands all the time] now I will be aware of nothing else!Shows how observant you are phoenix

soontobe Thu 08-Jan-15 22:15:35

DH and I do hold hands if we have plenty of time.
My guess is that the couples featured have taken a week off work or whatever, and must feel as if they are in holiday mode.
[disclaimer, havent watched tonight's programme yet].

merlotgran Thu 08-Jan-15 22:15:24

We are just as puzzled, phoenix. I was watching 'Wanted Down Under' in bed the other morning. Sad I know but I've been getting up late due to a hacking cough that's been keeping me awake most nights. The couple looking around a house actually held hands as they both tried to squeeze through a narrow doorway to look at an ensuite bathroom.

Might be the answer about going to the loo though. hmm

Anne58 Thu 08-Jan-15 22:09:26

Evening all,

Yet another programme where my prime reason for watching is to shout at the TV! (yes, i do know that I could turn off or over, but a good rant can be somewhat cathartic on occasions!)

But what I really want to know is, why do all the couples featured walk along hand in hand? Do the programme makers only select those who are so in love that they feel the need for physical contact at all time? (if this is the case, must be a right bugger when one of them has to go to to loo, or even to work)

Or does the director (or whoever) tell them to hold hands? Either way it is enough to make the average viewer feel either nauseated or that their own relationship is somewhat lacking!

Oh, had better add an apology for any GN'ers who do always walk along holding hands!
