I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

There are a lot of actors from Dr Who in Broadchurch.
It is a refuge for those who have escaped.

They used the skateboarding park on Clevedon seafront in the last series. When we were going to walk along there a few months ago part of it was being blocked off although we were allowed through, so I thought they would be filming there again.

I didn't see any cameras so I couldn't wave at you all.

I watched the first 2 episodes last night.

I was not very thrilled. I did enjoy the 1st series.

I thought the story of 2 police officers guarding a supposed witness in the fashion the story line has developed, to be frank, ridiculous. I am all for poetic licence but this does the biscuit a tad. I don't like Tennant's acting much so far either.

I am not all ba humbug I shall continue with it but so far I am enjoying Silent Witness far more.

Apparently some of the homes used are for rent. Not sure I could cope with hoards of general public photographing me if I stayed.

I am not really 'feeling' it this time. I keep thinking of Dr Who when I see the lovely Welsh actress. I keep expecting David Tennant to whisk her off in the TARDIS

There used to be a wonderful baker in the Main Street of West Bay - made the best lardy cake ever!

Greyduster Tue 13-Jan-15 18:12:24

I remember walking from Burton Bradstock to West Bay across the cliffs and coming down that cliff path into West Bay. We were going to walk back the same way but I couldn't face the climb back up! Couldn't do it now; screaming knees!

This gives the film locations practically scene by scene!

I am sure when DT and OC are sitting and talking with a backdrop of West Bay, they are sitting on Clevedon Pier and the background is a film of West Bay. (Haven't seen any golden sands in Clevedon!)

Having watched the previous series of Broadchurch, am thoroughly enjoying the new one.

I would say though that while characters resort to whispering and lowering their voices and music becoming more dramatic and increasing in volume, while adding atmosphere and interest to the storyline, at times it can totally drown out the sound.

It can become difficult to hear what they are saying.

This happened in 'The Missing' and other dramas, excellent though they are.

Clevedon? Used to have holidays there when I was little smile.

rosequartz Tue 13-Jan-15 17:18:58

A lot of the scenes looked like Clevedon this week!

And that hedge was a work of art! grin

Ana Tue 13-Jan-15 17:11:22

I quite liked the yellow walls. And the red curtains...

merlotgran Tue 13-Jan-15 17:00:41

Too many yellow walls....Just mentioning. hmm

rosequartz Tue 13-Jan-15 16:48:49

ps do you look out for plane trails if you watch period dramas? grin

rosequartz Tue 13-Jan-15 16:47:45

I'm seriously concerned about myself worrying about such trivial things
Tegan I call it observational and cynical grin

janerowena Tue 13-Jan-15 16:00:22

Which was why I thought they had gone upstairs, until I saw the billowing curtains. No, they were shut before. They must have gone out, stayed behind the front hedge and nipped around the back so I was infuriated when he raced out to the road!

Mishap Tue 13-Jan-15 15:41:41

It did seem bizarre to me that they left in total silence and neither police officer noticed and blooming thing.

Tegan Tue 13-Jan-15 15:15:42

Was the window open when they went into the room or did they open it? I would have thought a policewoman would have locks on all of her windows confused?? I suppose that, when we watching things like The Killing and The Bridge, we didn't notice such details as we were too busy reading the subtitles...

J52 Tue 13-Jan-15 15:07:35

It annoyed me that they kept on walking over the post in Olivia's house. Wouldn't she have picked it up? x

Tegan Tue 13-Jan-15 15:02:02

.....I'm seriously concerned about myself worrying about such trivial things; I feel I should get out more.....

Tegan Tue 13-Jan-15 15:01:12

I must use mine more, but it doesn't hold the vast amount of junk that I carry around with me when I go out confused. My Fossil bag isn't as big but seems to hold more junk. I don't have many bags compared to a lot of people but the ones I have need to be very well made and strong to cope with all the rubbish that's in them....I wouldn't have taken Miller as a Radley bag person as I reckon she'd need as much junk as me and have half eaten packets of crisps and suchlike in her bag.

janerowena Tue 13-Jan-15 14:19:44

A middle-range designer of handbags, much given to using little scottie dogs as a motif. Much loved by 30 to 40 year olds, in fact I have bought one for my DD's 30th birthday next week.

Mishap Tue 13-Jan-15 14:13:03

What pray is a "Radley bag"!?

Greyduster Tue 13-Jan-15 11:13:37

I have a Radley bag in the bottom of my wardrobe - forgot all about it until someone mentioned it. Handbags have never been my thing. But I agree with the above post; I got fed up last night and wandered off to do something else. Can't someone tidy David Tennant up? Can't thing that there's any reason for him to look so horrible!
