I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

And that hedge was a work of art! grin

A lot of the scenes looked like Clevedon this week!

Tegan Tue 13-Jan-15 17:23:53

Clevedon? Used to have holidays there when I was little smile.

Having watched the previous series of Broadchurch, am thoroughly enjoying the new one.

I would say though that while characters resort to whispering and lowering their voices and music becoming more dramatic and increasing in volume, while adding atmosphere and interest to the storyline, at times it can totally drown out the sound.

It can become difficult to hear what they are saying.

This happened in 'The Missing' and other dramas, excellent though they are.

I am sure when DT and OC are sitting and talking with a backdrop of West Bay, they are sitting on Clevedon Pier and the background is a film of West Bay. (Haven't seen any golden sands in Clevedon!)

This gives the film locations practically scene by scene!

I remember walking from Burton Bradstock to West Bay across the cliffs and coming down that cliff path into West Bay. We were going to walk back the same way but I couldn't face the climb back up! Couldn't do it now; screaming knees!

There used to be a wonderful baker in the Main Street of West Bay - made the best lardy cake ever!

Apparently some of the homes used are for rent. Not sure I could cope with hoards of general public photographing me if I stayed.

I am not really 'feeling' it this time. I keep thinking of Dr Who when I see the lovely Welsh actress. I keep expecting David Tennant to whisk her off in the TARDIS

I watched the first 2 episodes last night.

I was not very thrilled. I did enjoy the 1st series.

I thought the story of 2 police officers guarding a supposed witness in the fashion the story line has developed, to be frank, ridiculous. I am all for poetic licence but this does the biscuit a tad. I don't like Tennant's acting much so far either.

I am not all ba humbug I shall continue with it but so far I am enjoying Silent Witness far more.

They used the skateboarding park on Clevedon seafront in the last series. When we were going to walk along there a few months ago part of it was being blocked off although we were allowed through, so I thought they would be filming there again.

I didn't see any cameras so I couldn't wave at you all.

There are a lot of actors from Dr Who in Broadchurch.
It is a refuge for those who have escaped.

Its got a dog hanging off it Ana lot of money for a dog.

I too am very suspicious of the dodgy vicar but then I am often suspicious of vicars (kidding)

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:44:14

Easier to take for a walk, though, Flower grin

I have one, it was given by a friend who bought it and didn't use it.
It doesn't have a long strap though, unfortunately.

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:46:27

Yes, the vicar is positively encouraging the accused to plead guilty.

Perhaps it was a Dalek.

Flowerofthewest Wed 14-Jan-15 23:46:37

I once found a Radley dog lying in the gutter.

rosequartz Wed 14-Jan-15 23:47:31

sad did you take it to the RSPCA?

Flowerofthewest Thu 15-Jan-15 22:17:54

Nothing so common rosequartz nothing but the best for Radley Dog, I took a taxi to the London Teaching Hospital for The Best Vets in the World. Cost me a bomb but it was a Radley Dog after all.

Once found a dirty little rag dog lying on a peat road in the Hebrides. My friend's bear gave it the kiss of life then we left it.

janerowena Thu 15-Jan-15 22:20:09

grin

I was determined to get my money's worth with DD's bag, so bought her one that has half a dozen little dogs scattered all over it.

rosequartz Thu 15-Jan-15 22:34:58

Perhaps I should check mine, I stuffed him into a kennel cupboard for the winter (he is a summer dog). He may need some winalot and water grin

Or perhaps pedigree chum; he is a pedigree even if he is 2nd hand!

Don't follow this link unless you are a cynic (like me) who mutters all the way through about clangers in programmes:

Broadchurch 2 is rapidly descending into farce: plot, legal procedures, characterisation......

Mishap Mon 19-Jan-15 22:00:53

Well - I like it. Bit puzzled about the whole car situation - people arrive places with no car, or lend their car to someone else, and then seem to be able to get from A to B.

Ana Mon 19-Jan-15 22:04:00

I'm still enjoying it too. Olivia Colman is such a good actress I could watch her in anything and not bother too much about the finer details of the plot!
