I remember being unsure at the end of the first series, and I am already slightly confused following tonight's episode. However, I was really looking forward to it, so I hope I shall be able to keep up. I need subtitles to help me!
What did others think of it so far?

I have a Radley across the body bag and have never been sure which is the right way round.

Soutra and Tegan please tell?

I think the meeting was held in Millar's house - that kept it under the radar so to speak.

We have a device for measuring whether we're engaged by a film, play, TV programme or other performance. It's when you start thinking about the things in the scene, for example, whether that nice sofa would fit in your sitting room. Or, I suppose, why the character is carrying her Radley bag wrong way round? So far, hardly noticed what anyone is wearing or any of the furniture in Spirals!

Broadchurch seems to be sinking under the weight of too many sub-plots, and a total lack of reality.
It's becoming like a bad dream, and I'm losing interest.
David Tennant is positively depressing. (Is that an oxymoron?) hmm

My waters broke with DC2 before any other signs - 5 days over due date.

Mishap Tue 13-Jan-15 09:14:01

My waters broke with D 3 before any other signs had happened. My other 2 DDs thought it was hilarious.

Pittcity Tue 13-Jan-15 08:53:46

I have a bag that I carry the wrong way round because of the way the zip fastens. I suppose I could just swap it to my left!

Have you read the MN thread about unlikely things on TV? One of them was waters breaking with no other signs of labour - she'll have that baby in 10 minutes now!

I found some of the dialogue difficult to hear too.

Some of the events (and characters) in this seem a bit contrived to me. Why pick Miller's old neighbourhood to hold the meeting between the husband and wife? It could have been quite easily foreseen that the dead child's mum would see her and would confront her. Wouldn't prosecuting counsel have been aware that the defendant had been beaten up and that this would probably make his statement inadmissible?

I do find it quite entertaining but also fairly unbelievable. I'm obviously in a minority because it gets rave reviews.

rosequartz Mon 12-Jan-15 23:54:52

I had to keep using subtitles.

I wear my non-Radley bag the wrong way round, especially in a crowded place.

ninathenana Mon 12-Jan-15 23:11:19

I think we all knew the meeting Tennant set up between the husband and wife wasn't going to go to plan.

DH and I have to watch in silence. It's one of those programs you have to really concentrate on.

She is a policewoman, she wouldn't want to encourage a pickpocket soutra.

I love Broadchurch, no problems following it! Also Spiral.

Until I realised the window was open, I half thought the couple had raced upstairs. hmm

Ana Mon 12-Jan-15 22:17:30

I wouldn't recognise a Radley bag if it jumped up and bit me! How the other half live...grin

It's getting a bit too complicated now, though. I'm finding it hard to care about any of them apart from Miller.

Lilygran Mon 12-Jan-15 22:08:03

Spirals is back! Total dysfunction.

Mishap Mon 12-Jan-15 22:06:16

I do find it very hard to hear this programme - it is good but I have to turn it up very high.

Tegan Mon 12-Jan-15 22:05:35

I noticed the Radley bag as well; something recognisable in a sea of confusion....

Soutra Mon 12-Jan-15 22:02:10

The mystery for me is why Olivia Colman insists on wearing her Radley bag the wrong way round?

Pittcity Wed 07-Jan-15 18:49:43

I found the music a bit too much and struggled to remember who everyone was... but now I am hooked!

Iam64 Wed 07-Jan-15 10:06:07

I found it complicated, though I did watch the first series. I enjoy the Scandi noir series and find the way they summarise the previous episodes very reassuring!

rosesarered Tue 06-Jan-15 20:23:18

Just watched Broadchurch, thought it was very good, only complicated if you hadn't seen the first series. No doubt it will get even better.

rosesarered Tue 06-Jan-15 20:21:51

The new series of Game of Thrones starts in Spring, hurray!

whitewave Tue 06-Jan-15 19:20:54

wish I could watch it - it gets such a good write up envy

Tegan Tue 06-Jan-15 18:57:17

Problem is I'm getting fed up of watching programmes about child murders [which upset me to start off with]. At least in Game of Thrones EVERYBODY gets wiped out on a regular basis [I'm still watching it night after night...I'm now watching 'the making of' bits of the dvd]

Iam64 Tue 06-Jan-15 18:46:26

grin

rosequartz Tue 06-Jan-15 18:24:53

La La Land! grin

Well, if the BBC can afford her then I suppose the CPS can ......

Ana Tue 06-Jan-15 18:13:33

The CPS may not be able to afford her services and may not appoint her !

Oh, come on rosequartz, this is TV-land after all! grin If that happened, she'd no doubt take the job on for free, because of some dark secret in her past that we don't know about yet...
