No - wasn't that impressed, really. shysal - I said to DH last night that Robson Green hadn't worn very well - he did used to be a handsome young chap when in Soldier, Soldier!

merlotgran Tue 07-Oct-14 20:30:07

Did people exclaim, 'Christ on a bike' in the fifties? hmm

shysal Tue 07-Oct-14 19:49:24

I enjoyed it too. Agree the vicar is dishy, but could never understand Robson Green being a heartthrob!

Ana Tue 07-Oct-14 12:41:32

I agree with Eloethan, I'm afraid. As the baddie in Happy Valley James Norton was much more convincing.

glammanana Tue 07-Oct-14 12:22:26

We enjoyed it nice bit of humour with a decent story not to much blood & guts and no bad language a good light change.

Eloethan Tue 07-Oct-14 12:13:08

I thought it was unbelievable and tedious. I hadn't realised the vicar character was the awful bloke in Happy Valley - what a difference.]

Galen Tue 07-Oct-14 11:00:58

Very enjoyable

KatyK Tue 07-Oct-14 10:49:30

Atqui - Yes. He was such a horrible character in Happy Valley it was a bit strange seeing him in this. He is very good.

Atqui Tue 07-Oct-14 10:45:16

Did you find that disconcerting Katy? I did at first. I couldn't get the dreadful character he played in HV out of my mind, but I enjoyed the programme and was pleased the murder was resolved , having thought it was going to be a 6 week mystery

KatyK Tue 07-Oct-14 10:31:23

That dishy vicar is the same actor who played the nasty criminal in Happy Valley. Good actor.

Lona Tue 07-Oct-14 10:30:26

Grannyknot I watched it despite Robson Green, but he was ok really!

Lona Tue 07-Oct-14 10:28:44

annoIt was on ITV at 9pm, very easy on the eye, and enjoyable.

annodomini Tue 07-Oct-14 10:24:50

Didn't spot this. Which channel was it on?

Teetime Tue 07-Oct-14 08:41:05

A pleasant programme I thought- nice views of Cambridge which we love- not much of a plot but a restful hour with the vicar.

Grannyknot Tue 07-Oct-14 08:35:37

lona smile yes we liked it too. Funny no one mentions the once-upon-a-time heartthrob, Robson Green grin

ninathenana Mon 06-Oct-14 22:11:42

We both enjoyed it too.

Soutra Mon 06-Oct-14 22:08:24

I was apprehensive as I have really enjoyed the books, but not disappointed! smile

Nice to see some Cambridgeshire countryside on the telly for a change.

Wow! Dishy vicar, whodunnit, and a gorgeous Labrador puppy. I'm already hooked!
