I recommend this if you are in need of a good laugh. First time I have been in a cinema where everyone, young and old, was in fits all the way through.
The story is a bit predictable but the funny lines are brilliant. It is written by the same people who wrote Outnumbered for TV and the kids are given the same free reign with their lines. Billy Connolly, David Tennant, Ben Miller, Celia Imrie, Annette Crosbie - wonderful cast.

I won't give the plot away except to tell you that I am off now to check on the whereabouts of Grandad!!

We're going on Monday night! I'm sure I've read and really enjoyed the book, gilly....is there an 'old dad' in it - and it features around him? Won't give any more away!

I'm looking forward to this but it will have to come after I've seen Gone Girl on Tuesday. Thank you for the recommendation.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have ordered the book from the library.

How strange! I thought the title rang a bell, and yes I have seen the film before - but not this one. The 2006 film featured Shane Richie and Pauline Collins.

I wonder why they made another version so soon?

I read a book with this title some years ago. The family went on holiday to Malta. Is it the same book?

The book and 2006 film mentioned above are a completely different story with the same name.
The holiday is in the Scottish highlands... Beautiful!

Yes, I've just googled the 2006 film and it's apparently a tv film adapted from the book, neither of which has any connection with the current film apart from the title!
