Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

OMG! Barry Manilow's face!

ginny Sun 23-Nov-14 18:30:42

Dance off between Steve and Sunetra, with Steve to go . Agree about Jake his dance was a bit a bit cringe making.

Lona Sat 22-Nov-14 21:27:57

Good grief, there would be a total eclipse!!

pompa Sat 22-Nov-14 21:01:39

Papaoscar, just for once I am lost for words.

papaoscar Sat 22-Nov-14 20:49:56

Twerking! So thats it, but I think I would like to see it further demonstrated by a young lady with the initials 'KK' to be completely sure.

annodomini Sat 22-Nov-14 20:25:00

So that's what's meant by 'twerking'! I don't think I'm a great fan! My favourite tonight was Frankie. She made the Viennese waltz so fresh and youthful. And I agree that it is probably 'time up' for Steve - or maybe Sunetra.

TerriBull Sat 22-Nov-14 20:21:35

Simon and Mark are now both serious contenders. Apart from Sunetra and muscle man, all the others were very good from the outset, but Simon and Mark have gone from mediocre to outstanding.

Yes, I'd read that her daughter is so much better that she felt she could return' Zoe was a good stand-in but I do like Claudia!

merlotgran Sat 22-Nov-14 20:15:55

Nice to see Claudia back.

Jane10 Sat 22-Nov-14 20:14:57

Steve! Knew the name would come back to me. Phew

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 22-Nov-14 20:11:30

I liked the blue sparkly jumper Sunetra had on at the practice session. Would like to get one like that for DD for Xmas.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 22-Nov-14 20:09:57

I thought that (about his samba) So wrong in a man. grin

Jane10 Sat 22-Nov-14 20:03:36

Is it just me or was there something a bit revolting about Jake's Samba? Think the dance off will be Sunetra and that big muscly one dancing with Ola (senior moment re name)

So farewell Judy, not before time and, yes, will someone please empty a bag of ice-cubes over Len before he bursts into flame. Interesting to see how he gets on with Lucy Worsley tonight on BBC4 at 9pm about the history of dance. Could be a fiery contest of wills and egos. And Anton should certainly be elevated to compere or judge, he's certainly earned it.

Teetime Mon 17-Nov-14 14:08:25

Yes me too Len is a bit above himself - all that talking direct to the camera challenging the audience is a bit aggressive. He seems to talk less about technique these days and more of his unfunny quips - I wish he would go and pickle his walnuts.

Lona Mon 17-Nov-14 10:48:34

Yes, I'm fed up with Len too. He always says the same things now.
I think Ian Waite would be a good judge, he's always quite fair on ITT.
The judges seem to be inconsistent with their remarks and then the scores.

I'll be glad when Steve B leaves, and Pixie has been a favourite of the judges which puts me off.
I think Mark Wright could win and even Simon, as he's now found his competitive streak.

merlotgran Mon 17-Nov-14 10:35:54

I still think Anton should be presenting Strictly or Head Judge as I'm getting fed up with Len.

annodomini Mon 17-Nov-14 10:30:10

Since Anton's first appearance on Strictly, he has become a 'celeb' - a real showman - to the extent that he has his own stage show (packed out!) and performs in game shows such as the awful Through the Wall (I think that was its name). I doubt if he will be complaining much about the 'no hopers'.

Charleygirl Mon 17-Nov-14 08:55:02

Has Shirley had a face lift? She looked different to me.

Judy's best ever dance was the dance off when she probably knew that it was her last so could relax a bit.

I think it unfair that Anton has been saddled with "no hopers" for years.

PRINTMISS Mon 17-Nov-14 08:42:40

It was right that Judy went, and Anton is great on these occasions, however I do think he is now getting just a little too old to compete against the younger professionals who are coming along (sorry, but it is about dancing and not personality). Judy was obviously very popular, and it is I think now anyone's trophy. Shirley Bassey should have sung a new song, one we could not compare her with, I thought last night's performance was rather sad. Enjoy strictly though.

ginny Mon 17-Nov-14 08:34:55

At last , although like others, I thought it was Judys best dance. Simon was brilliant as was Pixie. Really enjoyed them all.

Was it me or did Shirley Bassey hit a real 'bum' note at the beginning of her song ? Improved afterwards though. I hope she won't be another who goes on and on and retires while she is still on top.

gillybob Sun 16-Nov-14 22:50:05

Totally agree Tegan Judy should have gone in week 1/2. Perhaps she was contracted to stay until Blackpool. Alison was by far the better dancer. Just glad she has finally gone tonight. In my opinion (it doesn't count for much but) there are at least 4 potential winners. smile

Really enjoying it this year.

Tegan Sun 16-Nov-14 22:25:45

Judy should have gone before Alison [whose personality could light up a small town imo]. Still, it won't have done her career any harm [Alison's, that is].

gma Sun 16-Nov-14 21:58:37

At last Judy has gone now! She should have gone a couple of weeks ago!!but I must admit that she danced much better this week, maybe she knew that she would have to go and she relaxed and my did it show!! Feel sorry for Anton though, always the bridesmaid and never the bride! Perhaps the powers that be will give him a real potential winner next year!

numberplease Sun 16-Nov-14 21:23:49

I agree that it was only fair for Judy to go this week, but what a shame that she chose this week to start to shine, and what a lovely man Anton is! I really enjoyed this week`s shows, and loved seeing Shirley Bassey again.
