Juts read the article in RT (in Smiths don't buy it) re Strictly Come Dancing and it looks dire - no Brucie and a guest list of no-one I have ever heard of except that coarse fruit and veg man and Andy Murray's sour faced mother.
I suppose I will get sucked in but I think its a record and wiz through job now - I like watching the professional dancers but can't stand the rubbish that Tess talks.
Will you be watching?

My prediction. Jake to go tonight. Caroline to win.

Anya Sun 14-Dec-14 08:03:50

I loved Frankie's rumba. Kevin is a very clever choreographer.

I think that after this week`s showing, Jake could be leaving.

Caroline to win...Please!!!

granjura Sat 13-Dec-14 20:20:25

4 x 10 = wow

annodomini Sat 13-Dec-14 20:18:50

I con't suppose Beethoven knew he was writing music for an Argentine tango! However, the 5th symphony worked very well for those dance moves. What an original idea!

I'd say that Tess has got stale now. She's been doing Strictly for too long. Why not make Darcy the presenter and take on Karen Hardy as a judge - she would carry more authority than most.

Perhaps they could have a weekly guest presenter the way they do with Have I Got News for You, could really brighten up the show.

annodomini Thu 11-Dec-14 13:48:58

Am trying to imagine Jeremy Clarkson in a Strictly scenario!

felice Thu 11-Dec-14 13:33:54

Boris Johnson, now that would be fun, can you imagine him with Olas' costumes,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NanKate Thu 11-Dec-14 06:47:26

Angela Rippon could host Strictly and she looks good for her age.

You are so right Deedaa

Deedaa Tue 09-Dec-14 22:01:27

I long to see presenters who have any knowledge of the subject they are presenting.

NanKate Tue 09-Dec-14 07:28:09

I agree Whitewave I too try to miss all the dross, especially Tess who says mostly the same things every week such as

'Come on over my darlings'
'they put everything they had into that dance'

I say bring back Katie Boyle, not literally if she is dead. hmm
I remember the time when presenters could actually present, or am I just imagining better days ?

Ana Mon 08-Dec-14 20:18:23

What newspaper report? confused

whitewave Mon 08-Dec-14 20:14:53

Got to the stage of recording it now and then skipping all the nonsense like the judges prancing in and silly chit chat and just watching the dances and points. Do the same on Sunday. It has got very same-y and boring.

POGS Mon 08-Dec-14 20:10:32

Well, I am shocked Pixie and Trent have gone.

I think they were so good they made every performance look easy but it was always filled with moves on the female part, meaning the celebrity had to show their capabilities.

The judges had commented on Simon using 'clicks of the fingers' to hide his sometimes poor hand shape. Len you were wrong on this one!

I think it is fair to say that every dancer left would/could have been in the finals in past contests but Pixie was consistently good and the two of them even won the Waltz Off.

I wonder if the newspaper report swayed some voters too.

papaoscar Mon 08-Dec-14 10:29:18

Still trying to work out what all the blue stuff at the start was all about. Its all getting increasingly boring. Len appeared to have a bit of a spat. Lighten up, people, its only telly not the holy grail!

Lona Mon 08-Dec-14 09:35:26

I think Len made the correct decision, Pixie's legs have never been good as far as I've seen, and Simon did a good dance.
I think Caroline or Frankie could win.

Teetime Mon 08-Dec-14 09:26:39

I too was surprised as Pixie is wonderful to watch but Simons dance was better- Len was right - we cheered for Simon - never vote though!!grin

Anya Mon 08-Dec-14 09:20:31

....and of course the public vote.

PRINTMISS Mon 08-Dec-14 08:37:34

I honestly thought that Jake would be in the dance-off, although I thought that his dance was hilarious and very difficult, his waltz in the group dance was awful. I do not think he will progress much further. Glad Simon is back with us, he has done so well, not too sure about Mark. I would like to see some (what I call) proper ball-room dancing by all of them at some point.
