This is on BBC2 Thursdays at 9pm. The third episode was yesterday evening and I had half decided to give up when I suddenly started to understand some of the plot - only some!!! Anyone else watching this- its is painfully slow but somehow intriguing and as there is so little else on I'll carry on for a bit.

I'm enjoying it too, although I had reservations at first. I think it was helpful that I came late to it and so watched it more or less back to back on the Iplayer, otherwise I think I would have got very muddled up from week to week! I think in terms of style it has been heavily influenced by Homeland - not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

I'm looking forward to the conclusion but the precis in thtelegraph says it doesn't really conclude. I suspect Nessa isn't dead though.

I find this series strangely gripping. I think it's the acting. I missed last weeks episode (it's no longer on catch up) but have just watched this week's and it doesn't seem to make any difference!

Loving some of her clothes! Silk blouses and well cut trousers - just my style except I would need to lose about 3 stone to look similar!

Serpently - I will try.

I'm getting a bit confused who are the goodies and who are the baddies. confused

Still enjoying it though, just not sure why. I think Nessa is alive too.

You certainly have to concentrate on the plot though, not sure I am coming up with the right answers. grin

I hope the last episode pulls it all together and doesn't leave us with unanswered questions.

Pollaidh Wed 20-Aug-14 13:54:45

Am so irritated by Maggie G that I am rather hopeful she was blown up at the end of the last episode. Bringing out the worst in me, she is.... smile

I'm with you there Pollaidh grin

Pollaidh Thu 21-Aug-14 12:27:30

Is tonight the last episode? Please tell me it is - I haven't bee so irritated by a serial since Jamaica Inn (which had me convinced I was going deaf).... still hooked though - albeit by a sense of morbid curiosity... grin

Lona Thu 21-Aug-14 14:20:48

Yes, it is!
I do hope they don't leave us hanging so they can do another series. hmm

Pollaidh Fri 22-Aug-14 09:47:29

Oh Lord - simpering to the end!!!

ayse Fri 22-Aug-14 10:06:40

I've recorded the last two episodes but haven't had time to watch yet. Is it worth spending 2 hours watching it? DH says it's just bubble gum.

Lona Fri 22-Aug-14 10:40:09

I was babysitting last night and they came home 20 minutes in to the last episode!
I got home in time for the last ten minutes but I don't feel I missed much!
Is it worth watching on catch up? hmm

Lona Fri 22-Aug-14 10:42:51

Pollaidh grin "Schlomo (sp)...............It's me...........................Nessa............................... I'm alive"

Pass the sick bag!!!!

kittylester Fri 22-Aug-14 10:47:06

Need more than that - who did what to whom and did the lively security guard really have to die!

trisher Fri 22-Aug-14 11:14:13

Sort of a satisfactory finish, but Lona I think your idea of a spin off with Stephen Rea is fantastic. Wouldn't it be great him and Lindsay Duncan, righting wrongs and solving mysteries? Well I would watch it!!!

Lona Fri 22-Aug-14 11:44:37

Yes! Thank goodness he didn't get slaughtered by that van! My heart was in my mouth for a second wink

suebailey1 Fri 22-Aug-14 11:45:29

Having suffered this programme and the truly dreadful piousness of Nessa I have to say I loved the last episode it was really gripping and terrifying - couldn't live through it all again though!

PRINTMISS Fri 22-Aug-14 14:33:22

I have enjoyed this programme, although I agree about the piousness and whimpering. The plot was, I thought good, and was I imagining it, or did Stephen Rea have a briefcase in his hand, which he dropped when the van nearly knocked him down - I did not see him with it when walking off with Lindsay Duncan. Was that an 'arrangement' he had - did someone in the van quickly lean out and pick it up Am I imagining this? Oh! lordy, that is not like me at all, think the programme got to me.

Lona Fri 22-Aug-14 14:53:23

Oooh yes, PRINTMISS He did, I'd forgotten that!

I've just watched the last episode on catch up, in full. I must say, I enjoyed it, and it made sense too!

Nonnie Fri 22-Aug-14 15:29:18

I think the bag being abandoned was to show it was of lesser interest than his wife. That bit was the happy ending imo. I have really enjoyed it all.

Lona Fri 22-Aug-14 16:22:59

Just watched the 'bag bit' a couple of times. It was exactly like her handbag, not a briefcase, but you didn't see her move to drop it or pick it up again.
It did look rather suspicious!
