Hive Alive

I was looking forward to the Hive Alive (?) prog last night, about bees. But it annoyed me so much I had to turn over! Does anyone else get irritated at the patronising style of theses programmes?!! They don't just TELL you something, they go through a ridiculous pantomime of rehearsed conversation with the 'expert', or an equally silly conversation between the TWO presenters (surely one is enough?). But the thing that finished it for me is this: the first five minutes are spent showing us mini clips of what we are GOING to see; then we see it, and blow me down! the presenter says 'so far we have seen....' and tells us what we have just seen!! That was when I turned over. Do they think all the potential viewers for a 'Nature' programme are dim-witted with the attention span of a gnat?
So much TV has been dumbed down. Or is it just me getting grumpier by the day? sad

This happens in so many programmes, Duchess, I think it's worse on ITV because after each ad break you have to be reminded where you were just in case your mind is full of DFS sofas and Wiltshire Farm Foods angry

If you took away all the meaningless padding the programme would actually be quite short.

Merlotgran You're so right! grin In the end, you hardly need to watch the programme itself because of all the repeated bits!

I watch very little 'live' TV' now; I always try to record things so I can fast forward all the rubbish, and you are right Merlotgran, there's not that much actual programme! shock

I understand what you mean - I have stopped watching Coast, Countryfile and that train programme with Michael Portillo - there are just slebs doing stuff rather than telling you about things. I don't need to see someone getting wet/tired or whatever to understand what they are telling me.

Talking of Countryfile, A couple of weeks ago I heard DH shout, 'Not that bloody calendar again!!'

I know it's for Children In Need but they will go on and on and on about it now until November. angry

Oh yes I het that we call it Blue Peter television. the presenter has to do what we would rather see the expert doing. I used to love Countryfile but now its full of Ellie and Matt doing things someone far better qualified should be doing. BUT worst of all is that twit who does the sport on BBC breakfast TV at the weekend doing the most stupid sports ever Blue Peter TV because the audience is stupid.angry
