Testament of Youth

I have just read that a film, starring Miranda Richardson, is being made of Vera Brittain's brilliant memoirs, Testament of Youth. Vera Brittain was the mother of former Cabinet minister Shirley Williams. I hope it's as good as the BBC series of the same name which was televised in the late 70s which starred Cheryl Champbell. Time for a re-run BBC?

They (the Beeb) have recently finished filming a new production of Testament of Youth. In Yorkshire, Oxford, and London.

What an exceptional book this is - let us hope the film does it justice - I am looking forward to it.

Who is he? Do I take it you rather fancy him?!

So no chance of them just showing the excellent 1979 version and saving a load of money?

I am really looking forward to seeing the film but would like to see the BBC series again - looks as though I may have to buy the DVD. I recently saw yet again the brilliant BBC series Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with Alec Guinness but equally enjoyed the film with Gary Oldman as well.

Mishap, surely you can't have forgotten jingl's obsession with Colin Morgan in Merlin? grin

He's a right little Irish charmer. You should have seen him die onstage at the Harold Pinter Theatre. And he was very good Arial at the Globe.

Boy's doing well. smile
