Was on BBC4 last night at 10.30. We caught it by chance as it hadn't been publicised. It was superb, starring Tom Jones, Charlotte Church, Kathryn Jenkins Owen Teale and other well known Welsh actors. You might be able to get it on Iplayer. Well worth watching and much enjoyed.
Why didn't BBC advertise it? We nearly missed it!

Yes, I saw this by chance too! Was feeling too tired to watch it so recorded it to watch later. Did watch the short documentary about Dylan Thomas that preceded it though.Marvellous poet in my view, whatever the shortcomings of the man personally [which you could say about almost any great 'artist'.]My favourite poem is Poem In October [about his birthday.]

I watched the documentary and the one about Peter Blake's work and I've got Under Milk Wood recorded for later.

The text was fairly heavily edited, and some characters never appeared - Bessie Bighead, Lord Cut Glass and the like. Nevertheless it was entertaining, although there is something contrary about taklng a '[play for voices' and making a visual version...

I loved Griff Rees Jones as Mr Pugh, the would be poisoner...

Incidentally, isn't Owen Teale a Geordie, mrsmopp?

A week later and I STILL haven't watched it! I have caught up with Tom Hollander's Dylan Thomas which I thought was wonderful. He really is one of the best actors we have.

Watched Under Milk Wood now, thought it was really well done and all the actors really seemed to enjoy doing it.
