Richard Madeley on the Wright Stuff

I might have posted this before, sorry if I have.

I like the format of the Wright Stuff on channel 5 but I simply cannot abide Matthew Wright. I find him obnoxious, politically bias and smug to watch. He spoils his show.

This week has been hosted by Richard Madeley, again, and he gives the guests room to speak, he is not politically bias and the show is by far better to watch.

I have now got to the point where I have a peak on monday morning to see if Matthew Wright is hosting, look at his guests and usually switch it off. I will usually watch if he is away and there is a guest host.

Antibody else dislike him?

I've never seen much of Matthew Wright. I find Richard Madeley extremely irritating and smug, but I have a sneaking liking for him (if that makes sense) blush

My thoughts exactly Katy smile

I feel exactly the same way about Richard Madeley, KatyK - strange, isn't it?

POGS Fri 02-May-14 10:34:18

Yes it does make sense Katy K.

I think Matthew Wright get's more childish as he grows older whilst Richard Madeley seems to have matured.

The format of a show does come into it as well. The Wright Stuff format allows for a personal thought as opposed to a scripted production. Does that make sense. confused

POGS, I really used to like Matthew Wright, I don't watch that often, but am inclined to agree with you, I have gone off him I just don't like the way he shuts down the debate if he doesn't agree on the phone in section, he can be quite rude.

I prefer Richard, I really like his wife Judy Finnegan when they did their 5pm slot on channel 4, their occasional spats could be amusing and although he can make the odd idiotic remark, he doesn't appear to go out of his way to be rude the way Matthew does.

I also like Donal McIntyre when he has presented The Wright Stuff occasionally, both he and Richard come across as reasoned and impartial, unlike Kaye Adams who I can't stand because she just can't get off her left wing soap box. It annoys me when the presenter isn't impartial on a discussion programme.

I do not watch the programme often but I also prefer Richard Madeley. I cannot stand Matthew with his silly giggling and also cutting off people if he just not agree with their views.

Richard does appear to have matured and gives a reasoned argument.

BAnanas

Oh yes, Donal McIntyre is another good host as well.

I think it is the two reasons I mentioned that get me most about Matthew Wright, immaturity and political bias, Donal is certainly not either of those, quite a mans man, just the way I like em. blush

Ana - yes it is strange. Every time Richard is on TV I feel like telling him to shut up but then I find myself thinking 'mind you he is rather attractive'. confused Someone on another thread said that they had met him and he was really nice so I forgive myself!

He makes my skin crawl shock

POGS Fri 02-May-14 15:57:43

What about Matthew Wright folks?

I am surprised some like him better than Madeley.

Perhaps it was the sight of him in a white bikini in the jungle that got some of you going. smile

Matthew Wright is arrogant and rude, although I used to like him when he was less so. I prefer Richard Madeley. He's friendly and allows people to speak, and not bothered when he comes across as a bit of a twit. Donal McIntyre is ok, but having read his book I was taken aback at how little substance there is to him. He certainly is no deep thinker!

Matthew Wright is everything that POGS says, politically biased, juvenile and often downright rude , I can't stand him.Richard Madely is ok -ish.Never heard of t'other fella.I may watch this programme if somebody else presents it.
