Homes under the hammer use of literal music.

You are very kind Tab - in truth, I spend quite a lot of time feeling guilty that my paintings are so conventional. There are so many artists who follow expressionism and paint wonderful abstracts depicting deep personal concepts - I don't know how they think their paintings up! I truly wish I did. Somehow they seem to me differently inspired than I am and the art world reveres them - think Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin. I'm utterly inspired by the beauty of nature and just want to record it as I see it.

Could you learn to paint - I'm sure you could. Find something that inspires you - a photo, a flower, an object and try to reproduce it. Use something like coloured pastels at first. Avoid water colour at all costs - it is the most difficult medium for beginners. I hope you get somewhere with it. I don't believe you can be taught - I think you just have to keep at it.

spec do you think that one could learn to paint that good?

My DH won't leave the house until he's watched Homes Under the Hammer (unless he really has to). He even watches the repeats. Not sure why. He has never been remotely interested in houses. Beautiful paintings specky.

I have a blank canvas on my easel at the moment - its waiting to have a portrait of a dog painted on it - yesterday the person who commissioned it called me to ask how it was going - I'm sorry, but I said "fine!" - my nose has since grown a little! Luckily I have until 30 April to get it done but I do feel so guilty! i would love to paint every day all day but mundane stuff takes over. Like ironing whilst watching homes under the hammer!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes but Tab I'm only ever doing the ironing when I watch it..allow me to be a grumpy old woman!!

PS I love the programme and would love to invest in property one day.

ah specs I think she is ok, she has lots to be happy and cheerful about!!, she owns tons of property and is getting paid to do something she likes.

Sorry but I would just like to do something very painful to that blonde woman who is so sickeningly excitable, cheerful and loud. The literal music is so funny.

I love this programme and always watch it when I have time off work. I'm not that interested in the houses (although some of them do scrub up well). I watch it more for the music and Martin's antics.

It always cheers me up no end and I love his giggle.
