I found this got rather unpleasant ased nd tastless last time round.

Emilia will no doubt be pleased that she is getting another chance tonight due to the lack of a decent alternative!

Thank you Merlot, it`s been puzzling me for years!

At least after this week's I could go to sleep. Last week I had to leave the bedroom light on.

It's called Silencium, number - by John Hale.

Testator Silens
Costestes e spiritu
Silentium
Angeli Silens
Costestes e spiritu
Silentium.

The first three lines are what you hear at the start of the tv prog

Re the Silent Witness title music, are there actually words to it? If so, does anyone know what they are, because I`ve been trying for years to make them out, with no luck.

Nobody ever smiles on these programmes. Same on CSI.

janerowena Wed 21-Jan-15 14:16:17

She did have her 'off' weeks!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 21-Jan-15 14:05:59

PLEASE do not mention Amanda Burton. She made the whole thing unwatchable for me.

janerowena Wed 21-Jan-15 13:14:22

I think she was just being thoughtful, but instead often just looked mournful! When I am thinking hard my eyes narrow and my whole face crinkles up. I doubt actresses are allowed to do that in case of wrinkles.

Ana Wed 21-Jan-15 13:06:27

And who could forget Amanda Burton, scalpel poised, gazing wistfully into the far distance?

janerowena Wed 21-Jan-15 12:57:50

The series is almost 20 years old! Incredible. Harry Cunningham. I liked him. I went right off Leo when he had an affair.

I bet if I watched the early series again, the advances in forensic science would be incredible. It was the science behind it that attracted me at first, but now it all seems to have taken a back seat. I rather miss that.

I enjoyed it again. Maybe not factually correct but it's a drama not a documentary. Not everybody talks like what we do. Think Louise, the social worker said that Lizzies mother had learning difficulties which would explain how she presented herself.

His name was 'thingy'

janerowena Tue 20-Jan-15 22:12:57

I think he's meant to be abrupt and abrasive. He's always been like that. I miss the actor who was in it before.

Obviously not enough to remember his name though!

POGS Tue 20-Jan-15 22:06:46

I am now totally up to the minute with all six progs. and I have enjoyed all of them.

I still don't like the Irish pathologist much, why does he annoy me, is it his acting or character? Probably just me.

merlotgran Tue 20-Jan-15 21:05:15

I think she's supposed to sound poor and fick.

petallus Tue 20-Jan-15 21:01:12

What if the characters aren't meant to speak proper?

Charleygirl Tue 20-Jan-15 13:47:10

phoenix I certainly would of!!!!!

Anne58 Tue 20-Jan-15 13:04:54

It grates more when written, I think may people in everyday speech shorten the word i.e. could've but when seen in print as "could of" it is very annoying! I found in a novel I read recently, you'd think that somebody at the proof reading / copy editing stage would HAVE noticed!

Charleygirl Tue 20-Jan-15 12:59:40

I also heard "could of" mentioned on the 24 hour news service and on Silent Witness. It grates with me.

petallus Tue 20-Jan-15 11:57:16

I wish Emilia Fox would cut down a bit on that facial expression denoting thinking/puzzlement, a sort of half frown.

lefthanded Tue 20-Jan-15 11:50:37

Call me picky if you like (and you probably will), but I was very disappointed last night to hear one of the central characters repeatedly saying "I could OF" rather than "I could HAVE". Would it have been so difficult to get this right?

Jane10 Sat 17-Jan-15 21:35:57

Big change from being Freddy Threepwood in Emsworth for that actor. I can't help liking him. Don't know why!

janerowena Sat 17-Jan-15 15:16:33

I just caught up with this week's episodes. My goodness. I really got that relationship the wrong way round! Very clever.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 14-Jan-15 14:07:22

Ah! good. I haven't missed any. smile

tanith Wed 14-Jan-15 14:05:39
