Masters of Sex - am I the only one watching it?

I found myself feeling so sorry for Mrs Scully. The look of confusion on her face when they explain to her what a climax is ....

We enjoy every episode, and as you all say, the is brilliant. It's hard to believe this all happened in my lifetime, it wasn't always the "good old days". Perhaps the pendulum has swung too far the other way now, but so much repression and unhappiness in the 50's and 60's.
The actress who plays Mrs Johnson is so lovely, it's nice to see someone new, but Michael Sheen is superb. This series is so refreshingly different.

I have watched it from the start and have warmed to the characters apart from Masters himself (but then that's Martin Sheen) who, as caz says seems frigid. The women are wonderful!
I watch it on my own as the OG plays bridge that night. I don't think I would enjoy it so much with a man in the room..... now what does that say about me

Caz, I purposely avoided reading this till I watched the taped episode. I agree, the series has really hit its stride now. Brilliant episode.

Did anyone watch last nights episode? It was funny, sad, poignant and some of it, quite shocking, especially the scenes in the car, (both different cars and different scenes.) Libby, Master's wife was brilliant, her acting was superb trying to be so brave and positive, and him so, dare I say, "frigid." And I felt such sympathy for Margaret, the Provost's wife and her supposedly shameful secret, The final scene was a surprise and was apparently true. It is such a good series and I am enjoying it immensely

I agree Grannyknot although it is about sex, there is also that element of caring which I find interesting. An aspect we tend to forget in this day and age, love and sex (like love and marriage).

Printmiss it is a bit slow at times, but I've become involved with the characters, so that's what holds my attention.

Caz I agree last week's was very moving. Michael Sheen is a superlative actor, he could carry the whole show on his own, but he has a brilliant supporting cast.

Also, with all the research in the world about the science of it - sex is also about tenderness, and being in love, and the way that it impacts on one particular participant ; ) (no spoilers here), I found that interesting in terms of influencing the responses of those taking part.

Yes, I've watched it from the beginning and agree with Grannyknot. I always enjoy programmes based on facts. This is well produced and acted. The sex scenes, (all done for research of course) I find slightly amusing but the characters are well portrayed and believable. It is incredible to think how things were in those days and how far we have come since then. Last week the final scenes with Michael Sheen and his assistant were so moving, I was in tears. I believe there are 12 episodes all together. It is interesting to Google the real Masters, and Johnson.

I find it a little boring! My husband watches it and there are parts which catch my attention. The other half did not realise it was based on fact, that is the part which intrigues me most, being of the generation that started with women taking charge with the cap, progressed to the pill and then vascectomy.

I am recording it. A recommendation then grannyknot - I remember when the research came out. Groundbreaking.
