I think you'd like it; it's not too long, either [@100 minutes]. Although, being the granny of just boys, I kept wondering how much modern day mothers spend on clothes for them when they have little girls 
.Our cinema has a little studio room where the films cost even less to watch; the seats weren't very comfortable but they've now put some comfy chairs at the back so it's like watching at home. Seeing The Great Beauty next week and, hopfeully 'Rush' as well. I need to rewatch The Social Network on dvd as the soundtrack prevented me from hearing most of the dialogue [albeit brilliant in itself being by the guy from Nine Inch Nails whose name escapes me for now].
This is a sweet little film, although painful to watch at times with it's subject matter of a young child's view of her parents breaking up. But the little girl who plays Maisie is amazing anf the actor who plays her stepfather is like a young Viggo Mortensen [that in itself being reason enough to watch it 
]. Rather want to read the book now; supposedly one of the earliest books to tackle the subject of effect of divorce on a child. Moving it to New york and modern times makes the film very Woody Allen'ish [although I sometimes felt it would have been better in French with subtitles..but that may be because I sometimes struggle to understand what people say these days and Viggo/Lincoln [sigh] mumbles a bit].
