I don't know why I am surprised that I am finding this rather good !

Same here! I guess it's because I'm a Widow in my 60s and would love to be as daring as they are! Well acted and definitely amusing for those of us on our own. I also appreciate the attitude of their respective offspring!

It's been a while since I found a sitcom funny but I found myself giggling at this.

I watched the first episide and found it ok [I think Cherie Lunghi irritated me a bit; I've loved Barbara Flynn ever since the Beiderbecke years]. What I did see the other night was Count Arthur Strong. I'm not sure if it's a repeat or the start of a new series but I laughed more than I have for ages. The S.O. just kept looking at me and saying 'do you really find this funny?' so it's obviously not everyones cup of tea. I do hope it's a series.

I love Barbara Flynn too. I remember her in Family at War many years ago.

I totally agree I think this is really funny and although I am not a widow I so identify with these "young" (at heart) ladies. Think we could do with more programmes that are aimed at accentuating the positive outlook that so many of us either have or could have. smile

Tegan - I love Count Arthur Strong, as well! I think they must be repeating the series, as I've just watched the first episode again. I find it so funny....please try and watch them all, because they get even better! gringrin
Not all that keen on Pat and Cabbage. Cherie Lunghi gets on my nerves a bit - although I think that's because she reminds me of this rather twee and dainty person who I used to work with.....hmm - SHE used to get on my nerves too!

They seem to be repeating Count Arthur Strong [it's on again next Saturday smile]. I find foot spa's quite amusing [juvenile sense of humour perhaps blush] even though I have one next to me. It belonged to my son [it's a long story...] and ended up at my house...I took it off the top of the wardrobe one day to try it out and it floated around ever since. Except the other day I looked at it and realised it looked like a bed pan blushblush. How did I miss CAS first time round?? I can't wait for next Saturday....
