I watched this ITV show last night on catch up, it was on during the week. It really is a remarkable story - what a lovely young man, with a smile that lights up the sky, a brilliant maths scholar and a dedicated sportsman. Came to England at age 11 from the Congo unable to speak any English yet excelled at school in no time at all.
Then of course the incident in March 2012 that made people like myself who don't even watch football, sit up and take notice of him. A cardiac arrest on the pitch in front of 30,000 people, the young doctor attached to the Bolton team clearly slightly overwhelmed at what he is facing, a top cardiac consultant in the stands who happened to be at the game on a borrowed season ticket. "No spontaneous cardiac activity" from Fabrice for 78 minutes (he was shocked with the paddles more than 20 times) and he is brought back from that and lives to tell the tale. The unassuming cardiac consultant played down his part in it, adding 'He is a walking, talking miracle'.
I'm a bit stuck! What would you do?
From sinner to saint, quite a transformation.
