Has anyone else found this TV channel? Pop and rock from all sorts of vintages, with contemporary film of the singers or current events of the time. Just been watching Dusty Springfield, Simon and Garfunkel and The Trogs. Ah the nostalgia....

No where do I find it?

Forzanonna Mon 11-Feb-13 18:10:44

Sounds good - what channel?

Grannyknot Mon 11-Feb-13 20:02:21

Sounds good Mamie, will try and find it. We saw The Troggs live not that long ago, they sang "Mild thing, you make my heart sing ..." smile it was a fun night. (They were on a bill with others from that era, can't for the life of me remember the other bands now ...)

BTW temperature on the Costa del Sol is still around 17 degrees sunshine

Mild thing? confused

Deliberate Ana ? Possibly in acknowledgement of their advancing years, but just a guess.

It is 515 on Freesat, but not sure about elsewhere.
Huh, Grannyknot - here everyone was excited today because the sun shone, but it was a pale and feeble thing after last week.
Re the Troggs, hasn't Reg Prentice just died?

Marelli Mon 11-Feb-13 20:15:52

He died last week, Mamie sad. I loved the Troggs.
"Wild thing

ana, phoenix is correct, of course it was done as a joke ... smile. It got a laugh anyway.

We also went to a gig by Procol Harum not that long ago - such consummate musicians. When the opening strains of Whiter Shade of Pale were played, I was 17 again. It's amazing how some music can take you back almost to a moment in time.

Grannyknot Mon 11-Feb-13 20:31:44

Sorry to hear that Reg Prentice has died.

Riverwalk Mon 11-Feb-13 20:34:16

Reg Presley!

Grannyknot Mon 11-Feb-13 20:40:49

LOL. thanks Riverwalk.

Whiter Shade of Pale - I remember a smoochy dance with OH (before he was OH) to that when they came to the union and played live - brilliant!

Talking of changing words of songs - I heard the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain play in St David's Cathedral and they did a take off of the punk number - I am an Anarchist. The second line is "I am the Anti-Christ". In order not to give offence in the setting in which they were performing they changed that line to "I am your Auntie Chris" - caused great hilarity amongst those who knew the song, but puzzled looks from those who didn't!
