Welcome Marylou2

I buy my music through iTunes. I often hear a track as background music to some programme on the TV. So I 'Shazam' it (app on my iPhone) and then download it. smile

Hi Im Marylou and this is my first post.. so much to read on here but thought I would start on a love of mine.. music.
I wonder where, if not thru I Tunes?Amazon, people buy their music these days?
With the closure of HMV there seems only supermarkets where you can browse through the latest albums.
I hear music on the radio but they have such fixed play lists now there is little chance of hearing anything new.

I think R6 nearly got pulled a while back but, thankfully they reconsidered. I couldn't understand why there never seemed to be any good music on the radio so I flicked channels one day and found R6. John Peel's son, Tom does a regular show [did last night 7-9]; he so like his dad, it's a joy listening to him.

Hi Tegan - do agree, my LPs have disappeared over the years, though I have now got the CDs of some of them. Tried the download thing but not very good at it and like you think it's good to have something to see and put on a shelf. I have a kindle though which I really like, do still like books as well but they seemed to be taking over the house!! I'm afraid I'm an avid Radio 2 listener and never seem to move from there - is Radio 6 good? I do like the current advert for it on BBC grin

BBC4 is always pretty good on Friday night, isn't it. Have been watching the programme about Pink Floyd but, having seen it a couple of times before I've escaped for a few minutes. D'you listen to Radio 6 Forzanonna? I keep intending to buy some of those picture frames that are for albums so I can swap the albums on a regular basis depending on my mood eg I could have a Prog Rock week and the following week could be Singer Songwriters of the 60's smile. I hate all this downloading business, which I can't do anyway. I like something I can put on a shelf and look at as well as listen to [same with books]. I am a technical dinosaur.
